“Belle, what’s wrong? You sound a little worried,” John asked as his daughter called him at work.
“Dad, I just wondered if you know that Mom stayed home from work today?”
“No, I didn’t. Is she okay?”
“Yeah, but you can’t talk to her. She is on the couch asleep. Are you enjoying your day?”
John, thinking of his wife, says”It was alright until I found out your mom is sick. I’ll tell you what. Why don’t I get off of here so I can get my work done and get home to you guys.”
Belle says, “Dad, I have a question to ask you? Sami wants to take Brady and me to the movies tonight. Can we go since it’s not a school night? PLEASE?”
“Let me think about it and I will let you know when I get home. Love you Tink. Bye.”
“Love you too Dad. See ya later.”
John got off the phone and began working feverishly to get his work done so that he can get home to his lovely wife and wonderful children. He gets to his paperwork and all the new applications for several positions he has added to his staff. Finally, at about 3:17, he gets everything done and hurries to grab all of his papers he is taking home and leaves. He is at the penthouse in record time. He jumps out of the car, grabs his briefcase, and runs to the door of the building. He gets into the elevator and pushes the button for his floor. Once the elevator stops and the doors open, he barrels out the door and to the penthouse. He pulls out his keys and is very careful to be quiet in case Marlena is still asleep. As he enters the door, he sees that Marlena is still asleep on the couch. He quietly puts his briefcase down and goes to the side of the couch. He kneels down beside her and kisses her forehead. She stirs slightly at the feel of his lips. She struggles to open her eyes to the bright sunny afternoon sky. She looks at him and smiles. “Hi. What are you doing home so early? Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing you, but you’re home so early. Are you okay?”
So touched by her total disregard for her own ailments, he just smiles at her and says, “I am now. Being able to see your beautiful face, dazzling smile, and stunning hazel eyes makes me feel so lucky to be your husband. Besides, why are you asking me if I’m okay? I should be asking you that question. Belle called me and let me know that you were at home sick. What’s wrong? Why didn’t you tell me that you didn’t feel good this morning. I would have stayed home with you and took care of you. I love you, Doc.”
“Oh honey, I love you, too. I didn’t tell you because it isn’t a big deal. I just have a very monster headache. And you know how headaches affect me. I’m okay one minute and the next I am crying my eyes out because it hurts so bad. I’m gonna be okay though. I think I’m going to go upstairs and take a nice cool shower and lay down. Did Belle ask you her question?”
“Yeah. I think it’s great that Sami has come around and accepted her little brother and sister. I think it’s really good for the kids to get to spend time with her.”
“Honey, she hasn’t only learned to accept them, but she is also accepting you. She knows how much you love me and she really respects you now that she knows that. Belle want to ask Sami if they can stay over tonight. I think that is a very good idea. I can get some more rest. And you and I can just relax and talk for a while. Maybe I’ll feel better if I can feel your arms around me. Well, what do you want for supper? I guess I should get up and make something.”
“No, Doc. I will get YOU something to eat. What do you want? And yes, it is a good idea for the kids to stay at Sami’s. We haven’t had a relaxing night alone in a long time.”
“That’s right. We haven’t. Honey I’m not hungry. Thanks anyway.”
“Doc, you have to eat. If I know you, you haven’t eaten anything all day. How about a…um…pizza?”
“Okay if I must.”
Just then there is a knock at the door. Belle comes running down the stairs with Brady close behind. “I’ll get it! I’ll get it!”, Belle says.
She opens the door. It’s Sami and Will. “Hi sissy. Can we stay tonight with you at your house? PLEASE?”, Belle and Brady ask without hestitation.
Sami smiles and says,”Well, hello to you both two. Only if it’s okay to Mom and Dad.”
This catches John and Marlena off guard. They look at each other in disbelief at the fact that Sami finally refered to John as ‘Dad’. Marlena gets a little teary eyed. She then gets up off of the couch. She still has the headache so she walks slowly to Sami. She gets to Sami and throws her arms around her daughter’s neck and all she can say is, “Thank you.”
Mom, why are you thanking me?”, Sami asks.
“Because you just called John ‘Dad’. We never thought you would ever call him that. I’m very sorry I ever doubted you, and I’m so very proud of you. You’ve come around and I just wanted to thank you for that.”
“Well, ever since Dad married Kate, moved to Paris, and told his family he was starting a ‘new life’, I’ve needed someone to lean on. And when I need someone, you two are always there for me. So it’s only fitting that I call John ‘Dad’. I love both of you so much. I don’t know what I would do without you.”
Marlena can sense something else is wrong. “Was there something else your father said? You seem a little down, honey.”
“Yeah. Dad said he is starting a new life with his new wife. He doesn’t want to be contacted by us. He doesn’t want us to try to find him. And he said that he won’t be home for a very long time. I hope he’s happy there. Because I have all i need here in Salem. With the exception of Grma & Grpa Evans and Eric, I have amazing grandparents and aunts and uncles, great friends, an adoreable little sister, a sweet and funny little brother, and a great little boy.” Sami begins to cry. “Not to mention, two loving, caring parents; a stunningly beautiful mom and an amazingly handsome dad here in Salem. So I think I’m the luckiest woman in the world.”
By this time, Marlena is in tears. “No. I think I’m the luckiest woman in the world. I have all of you. I love all of you so much. I have everything a woman could ever want in the world. I couldn’t ask for anything more.”
John stands and walks over to them. “Hey. You two don’t need to be crying. Besides both of you are lucky. But I’m the luckiest man in the world. I have all of you in my life. I’m very blessed to have you all. I love you all so much.” As he puts his arms around them, he notices that the kids are getting a little antsy. “Sami, honey, I think the natives are getting restless. If you know what I mean.”
Sami and Marlena just laugh. Sami says,”Alright you two, go upstairs and get everything you need to sleep over.”
They run up the stairs into their rooms. John reachs into his pocket and pulls out some money. “Here Sami. Here’s some money. Have fun.”
“Dad, you don’t have to do that. As you know I do have a job. I can pay. But thanks anyway.”
“Yeah, I know you have a job. But let me do this. If your mom didn’t have a headache, we’d go with you. But this is going to give us a little time alone.”
“Okay but I owe you dinner and a movie. And you, Mom, you go take a nice cool bath and go to bed. Oh, and eat something. Okay? Hey you two. Are you comin’ because the haywagon’s leavin’.”, Sami joked.
“Yeeesss. We’re coming. Don’t leave without us.”, Belle and Brady scream as they run down the stairs.
The kids go to Marlena and John and give them a hug.
They get ready to leave and Sami turns around and says,”Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I may have some very good news for you when I come back tomorrow. But that’s all I’m going to say. Come on kids, we’ll go to the movies and then go eat at the pub. Bye you two. Don’t do anything I would do. Hahaha.”
They get on the elevator and go down. John shuts the door as Marlena goes and sits on the couch. He joins her and puts his arm around her shoulder. They look at each other, confused and thinking, ‘Good news?’
‘Tomorrow?’
‘What could it be?’
“What could be the good news, Doc?”
“Honey, I have no idea. I will just be patient and wait ’til tomorrow. Right now I’m going to go upstairs and take a nice cool bath. Why don’t you go ahead and order the pizza. I’ll be back down in a little while. Love you!”
“I love you, too, Doc. More than I could ever say. You go up and relax. I’ll be here when you get back down here.”
“Okay.”, Marlena says as she heads up the stairs into the master bath. She begins to run the water. As the water runs, she gets undressed. She turns the water off once the tub is full and slides down into the nice cool bath. She closes her eyes and relaxes back against the tub. After a while, there’s a knock on the door. “Honey, it’s me. Are you okay? I was a bit worried. It’s been about 39 minutes since you came up. Do you want a little company?”, John asks.
“Baby, I’m fine. Just started daydreaming about some things and lost track of time. I’m sorry I worried you. I’m okay, though. If you want to come in, that’s okay with me.”
John opens the door and walks in. He goes to the side of the tub and kneels down on the floor. He then motions for Marlena to sit up. He takes a washcloth and gets it wet. He lightly sponges Marlena’s back with the cloth. When he’s done with that, he then walks up to the back of the tub to get a towel. He motions for her to stand up this time. One by one, John had Marlena step out of the tub so he could dry her off. She goes over to the vanity and gets her silk nightgown to put on. As she gets dressed, John goes into the bedroom. He already has the pizza in there. The penthouse is all locked and secure. It’s only them now. She comes out of the bathroom to find the room in candlelight. Lotion sitting on the nightstand. John motions for her to sit on the blanket in the middle of the floor. There’s the pizza, sodas, a bottle of water, and a bottle. John opens the pill bottle and takes one out. He hands it and the bottle of water to Marlena. “Take this, Doc. You’ll feel better. I gave you half a dose. Maybe it won’t hit you as hard that way.”
“Okay. But only for you, John.” She opens the bottle of water and takes the pill. “There. I took it. Why did you light candles around the room just for us to eat pizza and drink soda. I just don’t get it.”
“Doc, isn’t it alright for a husband to worry about his wife? I figured candlelight is softer than regular lamplight for your headache. Not to mention, it’s extremely romantic for a married couple who has the whole house to themselves. It’s been a long time since that’s been true. So I don’t intend to let our first night alone in awhile, pass us by. We’re going to make the most of our free time together. Are you ready for a night you won’t forget, Doc?”
Marlena’s eyes widen, and all she can do is smile with antiscipation.
“Doc, eat your pizza. You haven’t eaten all day. You need your strength. Please eat a little for me?”
“Honey, first of all, I’m not that hungry. And secondly, I’m afraid if I eat, I’ll get sick. But I’ll try a little, I guess.”
Marlena picks up a piece of pizza from the box and takes a bite. She continues with the bites ’til the piece is gone. She just looks at John in tears. He can tell the pill must not be working yet because she keeps wrinkling up her forehead. By now the tears are just flowing down Marlena’s cheeks. She can’t understand why she can’t relax. Her head’s just pounding. She gets up from the floor and without saying a word, she just staggers over to the bed and collapses onto it. “Doc! Doc! Are you okay?”, John exclaims as he jumps off the floor and runs to her side.
“I just need to relax a little bit. All of a sudden, I started thinking about when we had the children sleeping in here with us. We rarely had a moment alone. And now, they’re old enough to know when Mommy and Daddy need a special night to themselves. It just made my head hurt a little thinking that they’re not our babies anymore. I miss holding them in my arms. They grew up too fast.”
“Oh, honey. They have to grow up sometime. And there’s nothing wrong with them being able to sense we need ‘adult time’. I love that. That means I get to spend time with my beautiful wife. I know what you need. Turn over and take your robe off. I’m giving you one of my famous massages. That’ll relax you.”
Marlena takes off her robe and lays face down on the bed. John grabs the lotion he put on the nightstand. He no more than gets it in his hands, and the doorbell rings. He thinks to himself, ‘Why now.’ Then the phone rings. He reluctantly answers. “Hello.”
“Hey. It’s Bo. Answer the door, man.”
“Bo. What’s up? I’m upstairs with Marlena.”
“Oh! John, I’m sorry I interrupted you. Don’t want to deprive you of some…um…well shall we say…private pleasure. I will call you tomorrow. Don’t use all your energy in one place. Spread it around. Haha. Enjoy, bud. You two deserve it.”
John hangs up the phone. Marlena asks if that was Bo. John said yes. He then takes the phone off the hook and says, “No more interruptions! Now where was I? Oh, yeah. Right about here!”
He starts to massage the lotion in. Slow, sensual movements. Marlena’s soft cries are enough for John to know that his hands are working their magic. He can sense that she’s starting to drift off, so he starts kissing her shoulder, then her neck, then her ear. She woke up immediately. She turns over and gazes into his gorgeous blue eyes. They just stare at each other for what seems like an eternity until John finally says, “Doc, how are you feeling? Is your headache gone?”
“I feel fine. And it is a little better. But you know what they say is the best cure for a headache is, don’t you?”
“I don’t think I recall the answer to that question? Why don’t you tell me. Better yet why don’t you show me?”
Marlena smiles and pulls him down to her and kisses him. Not just any ordinary kiss, a very slow, exploring, sensual, passionate kiss that left nothing to the imagination. He is so swept up in the kiss, he doesn’t realize that she is working on the zipper of his pants. By the time he gets wise to Marlena’s roaming hands, his jeans are undone and on their way down his legs. “You little vixen! You completely astound me. Without me noticing even. Well since you seen to know what you want, you should take charge of this rendezvous.”
“Oh, really! You think I was the only one who undid someone. As I can feel right now if I were to stand up, I would be completely naked.”
“Oh my goodness! You’re not wearing panties. If I would have known that, I would have taken advantage of you a long time ago.”, he says sliding his hand up her nightgown to find out if she was telling the truth. Indeed she was telling the truth. He leans down over her and kisses her throat. Since he had already slipped her straps down her arms, he pulls the nightgown down exposing her breasts. He kisses a trail in between her breasts. Then he makes his way to her right breast and starts kneeding it, kissing it, suckling it. When she moans her approval, he makes his way to the other breast and pays the same close attention to it. She’s to her breaking point. She reaches down and begins massaging him with her hand. His breath catches in his throat. He wants to torture her but he’s to his own breaking point. He slams her hands above her head, hoists her nightgown to the middle of her body. He takes his free hand and lifts one leg at a time and puts them around his waist. He kisses her as he puts his hand down and grasps his manhood. He slowly enters her, and she lets out a sensual moan. With that, he starts a slow, steady motion while kissing the breath from Marlena. As time goes on, his thrusts get longer and harder making Marlena shake with antiscipation. With each thrust, it continues to push them further over the edge. Marlena starts to scream uncontrollably with pleasure. She is completely breathless as he reachs his climax a few seconds later. John looks down and sees Marlena holding her breath. “Breath, baby. Breath for me. Come on. Doc, breath.”
Marlena sucks in one deep, jagged breath. She continues to steady her breathing. “That’s my girl. That’s it. Breath.”, John says.
“John, that was amazing. Guess what? My headache’s gone, and I think I’ll be able to sleep tonight.”
“Honey, that’s good! You need your rest. So let’s cuddle up under these covers and go to sleep. What do you say?”
“As long as I’m in your arms, that’s all I need. I love you, John.”
“I love you, too, Doc. Sweet dreams, baby.”
And that was the last word spoken as John gives Marlena one last kiss before pulling her to him and wrapping his arms tightly around her. They fall asleep in each other’s arms dreaming of very sensual times between the two of them, both with smiles on their faces.
John wakes up with a very satisfied feeling all over his body. He turns and gazes upon the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. He doesn’t want to wake her. He slowly slides his arm from under her as to go and make her some of her special coffee. “What is it she puts in it? Sugar? Milk? Oh I know she puts something good in it. Maybe I should just surprise her by waking her up so she can explain how she does her coffee. Yeah, I better. I don’t want to ruin it.”
He goes back into the bedroom in hopes to surprise his wife, only to find the bed empty. “Doc, where are you?”
“I’m on the balcony, honey.”, Marlena says.
John goes to the balcony and wraps his arms around her waist as she took a deep breath. “What are you doing out here without me. I don’t want too many other men looking at you in only your robe. Get back inside.”
“I felt a little dizzy and needed some fresh air. That’s why I’m out here. Besides, why did you leave my side this morning. I woke up and you weren’t there. Where did you go?”
“I actually was headed downstairs to make you some coffee but then I couldn’t remember what you put in it.”
“That’s ok. I can make it. You just get dressed. We need to get to the pub to pick up the kids. Oh, and to hear Sami’s news.”
“Doc, what do you think the news is?”
“I don’t know honey. But the sooner you get dressed and ready, the sooner we will find out.”
“Yes. Mom. What ever you say, Mom.”, John says with that boyish grin on his face.
“Honey if I’m your mom you had better stop looking at me like that. And you better get dressed. Mothers are not supposed to have impure thoughts about their son. Please get dressed while I get the coffee ready.”
“Ok.” He grabs her butt when she turns to leave, making her jump. After she leaves the room, John takes off his robe and walks naked across the room to the dresser and pulls out a pair of jeans and a blue shirt out of the drawer. He puts them on and heads to the bathroom. He then shaves and puts his aftershave and cologne on. When he’s finished in the bathroom, he is planning on going downstairs to meet her. But as he was walking out of the bathroom, he heard the sweet sound of her voice singing from the bedroom. He slowly walks into the room to find Marlena putting on a beautiful yellow sundress. He just stands there in amazement at how beautiful and sweet wife. Once she got her dress on she put her hair up into a neat ponytail and began to put on her make up. “You don’t need that stuff. You are so beautiful without all of that.”
The sound of John’s voice startles her. “Oh my gosh! Honey you just scared me to death. Don’t do that.”
“Oh baby, I’m sorry. But are you ready to go? I really want to find out what the news is.”
“Honey you’re like a little kid getting up on Christmas morning. I am almost ready. What are we going to do after we have lunch at the pub with the kids?”
“Well, Doc. I thought we would come back here and relax for a while and then go out for supper and go to the drive-in. What do you think?”
“I think the kids will like that. Now let’s go.”
They leave the penthouse and head to the car. They are on their way to the pub when John lokks at Marlena and says, “Doc, you look so sexy in that dress.”, as he slides his hands up her thigh. Marlena stops him when he gets to her dress and says, “Now son, you shouldn’t be touching your mama that way.”, laughing a little while she says it.
“Haha, Doc. Jokes on me.”
They arrive at the pub a little before 11:30. John gets out of the car and runs around to open the door for Marlena. She gets out and thanks him as he pulls her in for a very passionate kiss. “Wow, honey Thank you. Now I feel special. I have a husband who isn’t afraid to show affection in public. I love you.”
“No, Doc, I’m the one that should feel special. I have a wife as beautiful and passionate as you. And why wouldn’t I show affection in public when I have you to show it to.”
“Ok you two. Would you two please come in here so I can tell everyone the news.”, Sami says seeing John and Marlena going for another kiss.
“Hi, honey. We were just coming in. Right, John.”
“Right.”
They all go in to the pub. Everyone is there. They all have a seat as Sami is about to tell her news. “Ok. I’m glad everyone could make it. I’m going to get right down to it. Part of my news is I’m am engaged to Lucas.”
Everyone was cheering. Marlena begins to cry. Then Sami says,”Now for the second part of my news. I’m pregnant.”
Marlena jumps up from her seat and runs to Sami, taking her into her arms and huggingher tightly. “I’m so happy for you honey. Thank you for great news.”
“You’re welcome. Mom it’s not that big of a deal. Why are you cryin?”
“I’m not sure. But I’m happy. Sit with us for lunch.”
They all sit and have lunch. Sami asks her if she will keep Will over night. Lucas wants to take her out for supper. Marlena says yes. They all get ready to leave. John and Marlena and the kids get to the car. They head back to the penthouse. When they get to the penthouse, Marlena looks tired. John tells Brady he is in charge and he’s taking Marlena up to the room for a nap. Brady says ok to his dad. John tells Marlena they are going upstairs for a nap. Marlena says ok. They go upstairs. Marlena changes into a pair of jeans and a white button down shirt. They lay down and fall asleep in each others arms.
2 hours later, Marlena is awoke from a sound sleep by noises coming from the kitchen. She slowly gets up and goes downstairs. She can hear the kids laughing in the kitchen. She no more than gets to the door and is hit with what seems to be a whole bag of flour. It was Brady that hit her. He apologizes but the other two are laughing hysterically. She finds the cookie dough that they were working on and picks up two hand fulls of it. She says, “You think that’s funny. Well, take this!” She flings the dough at Belle and Will. They duck and Marlena gets pale. “I am so sorry. I didn’t mean that.”
“Are you sure about that, Doc?”, John says covered in cookie dough.
“Yes honey I swear.”
John walks over to the counter and sees brownie batter and four victims. He picks it up and pours it all over them. Then the food fight begins and continues til all the ingredients lay out are all over. Somehow Marlena and John end up on the floor. John has a can of Readiwhip in his hand and begins spraying Marlena with it and then begins licking it off. The kids get wise to what’s going on and grab the hose from the sink. With cold water shooting out they say,”You two need to cool off.”
John says,”Good idea kids. I think I’ll take Mom and Grma upstairs and put her in the show.”
The youngest kids say,”Ewwww.” And then Brady says,”Yeah you guys go up and went you come back down we will go up. We’re not going up now.”
John throws Marlena over his shoulder and carries her upstairs. He sets her on the floor and has her stripped in seconds. Then he strips himself. He picks her back up and carries her to the shower. He turns the shower on the gets in with her. Once he gets all the food off of them, he throws her into the shower wall. he begins to attack her knowing they only have a little bit of time. He begins to kiss all over her body. When he hears her begin to moan, he knows that she is ready for him. He runs his hand down her body and slides his hands in between her legs making her moan a little louder. Once his hands work their magic on Marlena, she slide her hands down and begins to work her magic. Then she feels him grow in her hand, he takes over. He enters her with force and make her scream. He quickens the pace knowing now that he really has to finish before the kids come up and catch them. They get so close to the edge and her knees buckle. He catches her as they reach their climax together. They get out of the shower, dry off, get dressed, and go downstairs to find the kids have the kitchen all clean. “Now it’s our turn.”, the kids say as they run upstairs.
“Honey, that was amazing. Where are we going for supper. And then what are we going to see.”
“That is all a surprise that you will find out with the kids.”
John says to the kids to go upstairs and get cleaned up to go out for supper. “Where are we going, Dad.”
“Well, I thought we would go to Johnny Angels to eat. Then we will go to the drive in. Is that ok?”
“That’s cool. Be right back.”
Marlena says, “Honey, that is so sweet. I love you so.”
John says, “I love you so much. That’s why I picked Johnny Angels.”
They just sit there on the couch waiting for the kids to get ready. They are talking about the love they share, the kids, anything to pass the time until the kids come down the stairs.
Suddenly they hear all three of the kids coming down the stairs. “Ok. We are ready.”
So they all go to Johnny Angels and eat burgers, fries, and milkshakes. They talk about anything. Like a real family.
Then they get to the drive in. The kids want popcorn and soda, so John gives them money to go get it. The kids go while John and Marlena lay a blanket down on the ground fo the kids to sit on. Everybody get comfortable and the movie starts. There are four movies on that night so by the end of the third one, everyone is asleep but john. So he puts them all in the car and drives home.
When they get home, the kids are awake. So John goes to the other side of the car and gets Marlena out. He tells Brady to take the keys so that when they get to the penthouse door, he can open it.
They get to the penthouse and Brady opens the door. They all go in and say goodnight to John. John follows them upstairs and puts Marlena in bed. He then goes to the kids’ rooms and tucks them in. By the time he gets back to the bedroom, Marlena has changed and is back in bed. He changes and gets into bed. He wraps his arms around her and falls asleep.
The next morning, John wakes up with his arms empty. Then he hears some noises coming from the bathroom. He goes to the door and hears Marlena throwing up. “Baby, are you ok?”
“I don’t know what is wrong honey.”
“I am taking you to the hospital.”
“Ok John.”
John goes and gets the kids up and around. He takes Marlena to the hospital. The doctor runs several tests on her and it takes them 4 hours to find out what is wrong. He comes in and says, “Well, Mr and Mrs. Black. I have good news and bad news for you. Which do you want first?”
John and Marlena say together, “The good, please.”
The doctor looks at Marlena’s chart and says, “Well, the good news is…”
“I am what?”, Marlena says hysterically.
“Pregnant. Congratulations, Mommy and Daddy.”, the doctor says.
“I can’t believe this. My wife is pregnant. This is so amazing. I can’t wait to tell everyone.”, John says with a very large smile on his face.
“John, are you serious?”
“Yes, Doc. You aren’t?”
“Yes. If you’re happy, I’m happy.”
“Ok, Doctor. What is the bad news?”
“The bad news is it will be a very delicate pregnancy. No working unless it is from home. No over doing anything. Rest, rest, rest. Did I mention REST?”, the doctor says.
“Doctor, what about something else. You know?”, John asks.
“My husband the horny man here.”
“No over doing means no wild sex for at least the first three months. Then still not hard. So be careful.”
“Thank you so much doctor.”
“John, I can’t wait. Now that I know, I’m excited.”
“Honey, I think I need to get You home to rest.”
“Ok. Spoil me.”
“I will, Doc. We have one month to wait to make love like normal. But I want you to rest for today, then tomorrow we will tell the family. Ok?”
“Ok. I will rest better if you lay with me.”
“That’s no problem. I love to have my arms around you for any reason.”
“Ok. Take me home.”
John takes Marlena home. They walk into the penthouse and John drops the keys and sweeps Marlena off her feet. Startled, Marlena says “John, what are you doing?”
“Helping you relax. You need to be off your feet.”
“Honey, I can get up the stairs on my own.”
“I know but I wanted to do something sweet. So just enjoy it.”
“I love you, Mr. Black.”
“I love you, too, Mrs. Black.”
John gets Marlena to the bedroom and sits her down on her feet. Marlena slips her shoes off and slips under the covers. John does the same and slips under the covers, too. He wraps his arms around her from behind and kisses her on the check. “Get some rest. I have something special planned for later.”
“What?”
“I planned a dinner here in the house for Belle, Brady, you, and I. So that we can break the news to them. They will be so excited when we tell them.”
“Yes they will be. I just hope the rest of the family will feel the same way.”
“I’m sure they will. We just have to be careful. I don’t want you upset.”
“I know honey. I will stay calm. I don’t want anything to happen to this baby. Our baby.”
“Ok. Get so rest, so we can get up and tell the kids the good news.”
“Ok, baby. I love you so much.”
“I love you so much, too. “
And they fall asleep anticipating what the kids will say.
The next morning, John and Marlena are awoke by th laughter of children. Marlena says, “Well, should we tell them now?”
“No. We will tell them at lunch.”
“Okay. Let’s get dressed and go see what they are up to.”
“Okay Doc. But I want you to relax ,too. Okay?”
“Yes, Daddy. Whatever you say.”
“Alright, Mommy. That’s my girl.”
So they get dressed and walk downstairs. Belle and Brady are chasing each other around the room. They see their parents and stop in their tracks. “Mommy, are u ok?”, they ask.
“Yes. I am fine. Do you want to go out to eat today?”
“Yeah”
“Okay. Why don’t you go get dressed. And we will go.”
“Okay.”
So the kids go upstairs and get dressed. John walks up behind Marlena and puts his arms around her waist. He kisses the side of her neck. She starts to moan. At that moment, the kids come back down. John says, “We will continue this later, hot stuff.”
“You are such an ass. You are going to get it later.”
“Mommy we are ready.”
“Okay guys. Let’s go.”
They head out of the penthouse and get in the elevator. They head for the garage. They reach the car. John opens the car doors open for all of them. After he shuts the doors, he gets in and starts the car. They head for their destination. A hilltop with a blanket spread on it. A basket full of food. They get there and get out of the car. They go to the blanket. Marlena says, “John , how did you do this?”
“I have my ways , Doc.”
“Thank you “
“You’re welcome.”
So they sit and enjoy watching the kids running and playing. Finally John calls the kids to the blanket. They come over and sit down. “Mommy and I have something to tell you.”
“What?”, they ask.
“Mommy and I are going to be busy in a few months. We are going to have another baby, actually twins. Two new babies. What do you think?”
“Great. Awesome. Cool. Yea.”
“Well, Doc. I think they are happy.”
“I think so too”
“Well, you ready to go tell the rest of the familly?”
“Yes. Let’s go.”
So they head to town. They get to the Brady Pub. They walk in and everyone is there. So John just walks to the bar with Marlena by his side and says, “I have an announcement to make. Marlena and I are going to have twins.”
Everyone comes to them and congratulates them, except Sami, who is filled with several emotions. Happiness, sadness, jealousy, and fear. Happiness because she and her mom will be going thru this together. Sadness and Fear because her mom is an older woman, and pregnancy is very risky in women her age. She doesn’t want anything to happen to her. And jealousy because she wanted to be in the spotlight alone. Now her mom was going to take it from her because of the delicacy of her pregnancy. Sami blurts out, “NOOOOOOOOO.”
John and Marlena and everyone else are stunned. Sami then says, “How could you? What will happen if something happens to you during the pregnancy. Why is this happening? I can’t lose you Mom. I can’t talk anymore about this. I need to get out of here.” And she leaves.
“John, is this a good idea?”
“Let’s get you home , Doc. You need to rest. We will talk about it at home.”
“Ok. Let’s go.”
And they head home. Everyone is very quiet on the way home. The only thing you can hear is the sound of Marlena crying.
They arrive home. Everyone was quiet. They get to the penthouse, and Marlena walks in first. She heads for the stairs. John can see how hurt she is by Sami’s actions. He takes the kids up to their rooms and gets them ready for bed. Brady asks, “Why is Sami so upset , Dad?”
“I am not sure, kid. She must have something on her mind. Don’t you worry. I will get to the bottom of it. Night.”
“Night Dad.”
John goes down the hall to his and Marlena’s room. He can hear her crying. He knows it isn’t good for her to get upset. He goes in and sits on the edge of the bed. “Baby, are you ok?”
Marlena sniffles and says, “Yeah. I just need some sleep.”
“Ok. But when you feel like talking, you know you can talk to me.”
“I know honey. Just not now.”
“Ok.”
Marlena lays there for a bit. And then she feels John’s strong arms enveloping her to his chest. She relaxes in his arms and falls asleep. John lays there for a while , trying to think of how to find out what is wrong with Sami. He falls asleep.

Marlena wakes up and slips from John’s arms. She goes to the phone in the living room and calls Sami.
“Hello?”
“Sami?”
“Yeah. Mom is that you?
“Yes. Can we go to lunch today? We need to talk.”
“Yeah. We can and we do.”
“11:30?”
“Sure. Brady Pub?”
“Sure. See you then. Bye honey.”
“Bye Mom.”
Marlena hangs up and goes back upstairs. She gets in the shower. She gets out, gets dressed, and goes to John. “Honey, I am going out now.”
“Huh? Where?”
“Having lunch with Sami.”
“Ok. Call me if you need me.”
“I will. Love you honey “
“Love you too.”
And Marlena leaves. When she arrives at the pub. Sami is standing outside. She smiles and says,”Hi Mom.”
“Hi hon. Let’s go in.”
“Ok.”
They go in and sit down. Caroline comes over and takes their order and brings them some iced tea to drink. “Mom, I am so sorry for my reaction last night. I am just emotional right now. I was scared, happy, upset, and sad all at the same time and i guess the anger came out. I am sad because I know you and Dad wanted to enjoy your lives right now, and now you will have another baby to take care of. I was angry because I am jealous because I wanted to be the one everyone was concerned about right now. Sad because I don’t want to lose the time we spend together right now. And of course , happy because it made you and Dad smile and we can go through this together. But I slept on it last night , and now the only things i feel are concern and happiness. Ok. Now that you know what I felt last night tell me how you feel.”
“Honey, I am so happy right now. For one, I am pregnant with John’s child. The man I want to spend the rest of my life with. And you called him Dad. Honey, that makes me so happy. You are a very amazing woman. And I am so porud to have you as a daughter. I love you. And thank you for apologizing . But I understand your feelings. I am concerned too. But I havce the best family and I know they will help me through everytihing. .”
“That’s right. Now let’s eat so that we can get to the penthouse. I want to spend the day with my family.”
“Me too. Let’s eat.”
Marlena and Sami walk into the penthouse and John is sitting in the living room with the kids. “Hey. Look who came to see you all.”
John looks up and comes to Sami . “I am so glad you came.”
Sami hugs him back and says”Me, too.”
So they all sit down and have fun , playing games, talking, and being together. Sami says “Why don’t I take the kids for tonight. You 2 need some time together. Enjoy.”
“Thanks hon. We will do the same for you sometime too. Love you. Love all of you.”
“Love you too.” And Sami and the kids Leave. John looks at Marlena.
“John What is on your mind?”
“Just thinking of what I would like to do to my wife right now?”
“No way, mister.”

“I want to be romanced and made to feel loved.”
“Oh I think I can arrange that. Go upstairs and take a bath.”
“OK.”
She goes upstairs and take her bath. When she is done, she goes downstairs. The fireplace is lit, a bottle of champaine chilling , and strawberries and whipped cream. She couldn’t help but smile. She decided to lay down and watch some tv. She watched a couple movies and fell back asleep. She woke up to the phone ringing. “Hello?”

“I am ok. I am just wore out.”
“Do you want me to bring something home for supper?”
“Yeah but don’t make it something too heavy. I don’t think I can eat that much.”
“Ok. I will get something and be right home. Love you.”
“OK. Love you too. Bye.”
“Bye.”
An hour later , John returns home with supper. The house is dark and silent. He calls for her all the way up the stairs. He enters thier bedroom and didn’t see her. “Doc?”
No response.
He called her again “Doc, are you here?”
A quiet whisper comes from the bathroom, “John, help me.”
John goes running and opens the door to find Marlena sitting by the toilet looking extremely pale. “OMG Doc. What is wrong?”
“I feel so sick. I can’t stop throwing up. I think something is wrong.”
“Ok, Doc. I will take you to the hospital.”
He scoops her up in his arms and carries her to the car. On the way to the hospital, he calls Sami and lets her know that they are going to the hospital. She says she will meet them there. John and Marlena arrive at the hospital and they take her immediately to a room. After and hour, the doctor comes out and walks straight to John. “Mr. Black, I have news about your wife.”
John looks at the doctor and gets a bad feeling something is really wrong.
“Doctor, what is wrong with my wife?”
“Mr. Black, she will be fine. She is just very tired. She Has been resting, but all these restless nights are taking their toll on her. And I also found why she my be having restless nights. You are having triplets. Congrats. I will prescribe something to help her thru this, but she needs to stay calm. You can go in and see her.”
“Thanks doctor.”
John goes in and sees Marlena is asleep. He sits there and thanks God for making her and the babies ok. Marlena wakes. “Hi.”
“Hi honey. You ok?”
“Yeah. Did the doctor tell you what is wrong with me?”
“Yeah. Doc, we are having triplets.”
“OMG. 3 babies. OMG.”
“You need your rest so we will talk more later.”
“Will you lay with me and hold me?”
“Of course.”
John gets into bed with Marlena and holds her. “I love you, Doc.”
“I love you , John.”
And they fall asleep.
