Prologue
Marlena and John are married and are currently trying to work though Brady’s hatred for Marlena. Brady has had his accident and is able to walk a little bit. John constantly has to side with one or the other. Marlena has been spending some nights at the Salem Inn. Marlena has been getting fed up with Brady and is always fighting with John. She is sitting in her office replaying things in her mind about all her conversations with John and Brady.
MARLENA: “Oh John can our marriage survive anymore its not enough you have fathered another child thats not mine but Brady is constantly fighting with me and u never choose my side.”
(Suddenly the phone rings which makes Marlena come out of her daze.)
MARLENA: “Dr Evans speaking.”
JOHN: “Hey its John.”
MARLENA: “John why ae you calling?”
JOHN: “Dont sound so surprised cant i call my wife?”
MARLENA: (Under her breath) “Not these days.”
JOHN: “What?”
MARLENA: “Nothing i have to go bye.”
JOHN: “Marlena wait whats wrong?”
MARLENA: “You wanna know whats wrong John? I will tell you whats wrong first you sleep with my ex-husbands sister-in-law if thats not enough you sleep with her on our honeymoon and then again if thats not enough you get her pregnant. Again as if i dont have enough to deal with your son hates me when i have never done anything to him but treat him as one of my own and if thats not enough he doesnt just hate me he constantly picks fights with me and if thats not enough you have not once stuck up for me you just watch him verbaly abuse me. Do i need to mention anything else or do we understand eachother now?”
JOHN: “Honey I think…”
MARLENA: “Dont call me honey John im not in the mood what do you want? Sex go ask Hope.”
JOHN: “Ok i dont wanna talk about this over the phone i will wait till you get home.”
MARLENA: “im not coming home John im hanging up now and dont call back i dont wanna talk to you.”
(And with that Marlena hangs up John in tears from what Marlena had just said to him sits down on the couch. Hours later Marlena returns home to pick up some clothes for the Salem Inn.)

(As Marlena walks into the Penthouse were she and John live she immediately notices John sleeping peacefully on the couch. As she moves towards her husband who she’d barely seen for a few days now she notices that his cheeks are tear-stained. Thinking the worst she thinks something has happened to Brady but realizes if Brady was sick John would be with him. Not wanting to talk to him she softly kisses his cheek and makes her way up to hers and John’s bedroom. She was going to stay at the Salem Inn again tonight and needed clean clothes and a proper shower.
The light glowing through the window wakes John up he spots Marlena’s keys on the coffee table and goes to find her he’d fallen asleep watching a home video of Marlena, him and the children before they had gotten married. As John walks to his bedroom he sees Marlena in nothing but a towel staring into her reflection in the mirror she looked exhausted.)
JOHN: “Hey Doc I didn’t know you were here.”
MARLENA”: Oh John you scared me. I’m sorry if I woke you I just was getting some clothes.”
(He notices her suitcase on the bed half full)
JOHN: “Where you going? Medical conference?”
MARLENA: “No I’m going to the Salem Inn and I needed clean clothes and a shower. I’ll be out of here soon.”
JOHN: “Marlena please don’t go to the Salem Inn we really need to talk about things. I love you and I want you here not at some hotel were I cant get in contact with you because you use different names.”
MARLENA: “I have to go John. Brady and I cant live under the same roof and you know that. I use different names because you’re the one who said time apart wont hurt us.”
JOHN: “1-2 nights not weeks is what I meant Doc. You must know that.”
MARLENA: “Well I didn’t you never said that you never say much to me these days now if you excuse me I would like to get dressed and get outta here.”
(John moves closer to her)
JOHN: “Your not going anywhere this is you’re home-our home. Let’s talk work things out. What are you achieving by running away?”
MARLENA: “What are you achieving by changing your mind and blowing hot and cold with me all the time? Please tell me coz I’ve got no idea in the slightest.”
JOHN: “You don’t have to be like that Doc. I’m telling you that I want to work things out with my wife and lead a normal happy married life.”
MARLENA: “Nothings ever normal for us if its not Stephano or ex-spouses its step-children.”
JOHN: “Brady’s at fault to I know that but hey you can’t put it all on him.”
MARLENA: “Like I did just then you’re about to say write? Well I just named few people and children not child John. How do you know that I meant Brady John? You didn’t I could have been talking about Sami.”0
(John looking distressed goes up behind Marlena and puts his hands on her shoulders)
JOHN: “I love you.”
MARLENA: “That’s all very well in words John but neither you nor me have really made an effort and I think our marriage is deteriorating.”
JOHN: “Not if I can help it.”
(Scoops Marlena up in his arms and walks the bed)
MARLENA: “John please put me down.”
JOHN: “O.K. Doc whateva you say.”
(John places her on the bed and lays atop her)
MARLENA: “John honey not now we need to talk.”
JOHN: “SHHHH Doc if you tell me you don’t want me I will leave you alone.”
(John caresses her stomach and kisses her lips slowly then passionately Marlena let’s go then kisses him back.)
MARLENA: “John its not write.”
JOHN: “Baby answer the question.”
MARLENA: “I WANT YOU.”
(John plays with Marlena’s body slowly moving his hands up and down making her shiver)
JOHN: I love you.
MARLENA: “Don’t leave me.”
JOHN: “I’m not going anywhere.”
(Marlena licks John’s chest and moves down to his lower abdomen. John wanting Marlena more then ever cups her face in his hands and brings it up to his face and kisses her. Marlena moves her hands up and down his body. As they kiss they become one for the first time in weeks.)

(John and Marlena lay silently in each other’s arm for a while after John looks down to Marlena.)
JOHN: “So…”
MARLENA: “hmmmm”
JOHN: “I love you so much. I wish things were different I wish…”
MARLENA: “You wish what? That your wife was a nice person who liked your son?”
JOHN: “I never said that I wish that this whole Hope thing wasn’t going on and that Brady wasn’t paralyzed.”
MARLENA: “A few corrections for you Brady’s not completely paralyzed and I was the one that told Roman to go after Brady the night of the accident and this whole Hope thing is not your fault.”
JOHN: “I know but I promised to Love, Honor and obey you and what have I accomplished outta that list?”
MARLENA: (Under her breath) “Honor!”
(John looking hurt gets up, puts his robe on and sits on the edge of the bed. Marlena realizing he heard her try’s to cover it up.)
MARLENA: “John, honey I’m sorry but like I said your blowing hot and cold towards me and I’m worried about why you just made love to me the women that is responsible for the paralyzation of your son.”
JOHN: “Gee you’re my wife and I love you I thought you loved me maybe I was wrong.”
(Marlena gets up, puts her robe on and walks calmly to the bathroom were she closes the door sits down against it and tries her hardest to keep her tears in but cant she bursts out in tears. John hears her and his heart brakes at the sound of her cries. He walks towards the door to speak to her.)
JOHN: “Baby you O.K. talk to me.”
MARLENA: “John I’m fine I just wanna be left alone.”
JOHN: “I might not honor you but I would never leave a woman alone to cry let alone my wife. Open up to me.”
(Marlena slides away from the door. John slowly opens up not to fast just in case she’s behind it. He sees her bundled up on the cold tiles and moves closer to her sitting beside her.)
JOHN: “I’m sorry. Hey come here.”
(She slowly melts in his arms as he shields her from the outside world.)
MARLENA: “John I wanted us to have the perfect life. I wanted Brady to like me. He did were did I go wrong?”
JOHN: “He’s just growing up. Sami went through some of these problems.”
MARLENA: “It would seem most of my children hate me wouldn’t it? I know I wasn’t there like I should have been with Sami and Eric but I really tried to make Brady feel like me own child I treated him just like I treated Belle, Carrie and the twins.”
JOHN: “He never new Isabella Doc.”
MARLENA: “He thinks I took you away from her. Besides Carrie never had much to do with Anna.”
JOHN: “Carrie met her mother. Anna abandoned Carrie and she knew it on some level. Brady doesn’t think you took me away from Isabella.”
MARLENA: “Ask him. But then again he wouldn’t tell you that. You know I always feared you loved Isabella more then me.”
JOHN: “Doc, Izzy B is in my past I will always love her but that part of my life is over. Roman would do anything to get you back into his arms and you know that!”
(Marlena smiles and buries her head in John’s chest.)
JOHN: “Let’s go to bed.”
MARLENAL: “OK.”
(John picks Marlena up and places her on the bed covering her cold body with the blankets her lays down beside her, they warm eachother up and slowly drift asleep to find eachother in there dreams.)

(The sun’s glare coming through the windows is the first thing John saw when he woke up the next morning. Neither he nor Marlena had closed the curtains the previous night. He recalled the things that happened the night before in his mind. He needed to talk to Brady and set the ground rules. Marlena was right Brady needed to learn respect. )
JOHN: “Oh Marlena you’re so beautiful I love you so much.”
MARLENA: “You really mean that John?”
JOHN: “Hey that’s no fair I thought you were sleeping!”
MARLENA: “So you wouldn’t have said it if you knew I was awake. I mean it John do you really love me?”
JOHN: “Of course I love you! I’m stuck with you were married.”
MARLENA: “Oh John Black you’re so funny.”
JOHN: “I know now that we’ve settled that, may I have a morning kiss?”
MARLENA: “Ummmmm… I don’t know. O.K. only if I get one back.”
JOHN: “You bet!”
(They kiss passionately Marlena feeling happy that her and John may finally be working things out. Marlena breaks the kiss)
MARLENA: “John”
JOHN: “Doc”
MARLENA: “What about Brady? He hates me no actually he despises me I- we cant live like that.”
JOHN: “Funny you should mention that while you were sleeping or I thought you were sleeping I decided when I see Brady I will set house rules he can abide by them or leave.”
MARLENA: “John he will hate you if you kick him out I knows what it’s like to have your own child hate you. When Sami hated me after the affair my heart would break every time she said something harsh to me.”
JOHN: “I know baby I remember. He will come around. I’m going for a shower wanna come?”
MARLENA: “No I’m O.K.”
JOHN: (Looking disappointed) “Why not?”
MARLENA: “I need to get ready for work quickly I will be gone before your out.”
JOHN: “Oh O.K. I understand. I’ll see you later.”
MARLENA: “Aha.”
JOHN: “Tell you what I’ll come past your office later O.K.?”
MARLENA: “I will be waiting.”
(John kisses Marlena passionately then heads for the bathroom Marlena gets up, gets dressed and is out of the house before John gets out of the shower like she told him.)

(Marlena is working at her desk when there’s a knock at the door.)
MARLENA: “Come in.”
ROMAN: “Hey Doc how are ya?”
MARLENA: “Hello Roman I’m good thanks and you?”
ROMAN: “Good. I stopped by your room today.”
MARLENA: “My room?”
ROMAN: “At the Salem Inn. They told me you didn’t go their last night are you O.K.?”
MARLENA: “I’m fine.”
ROMAN: “Where were you last night I was worried?”
MARLENA: “I was at the Penthouse”
ROMAN: “With John?”
MARLENA: “Yes he lives their aswell.”
ROMAN: “So you guys have worked things out he’s not gonna side with Brady anymore and hurt you?”
MARLENA: “Roman what are you trying to say?”
(Roman walks up behind Marlena’s chairs slowly lifting her elbows up making her stand up. He turns her around and kisses her passionately on the lips. Just as he does that John walks in to witness the kiss.)
MARLENA: “Roman please get of me I’m married.”
ROMAN: “And has that ever stopped you?”
JOHN: “Get out Roman now.”
(Roman lets go of Marlena quickly and she loses her balance and falls to the ground crying. Roman runs out and John goes to comfort his wife)
MARLENA: “Oww John I didn’t kiss him he kissed me then he dropped me.”
JOHN: “I know baby I saw it all. You O.K.?”
MARLENA: “I’m O.K. my arm hurts a bit.”
JOHN: “Come and sit down.”
(John helps Marlena to her feet and they move to the couch in the center of her office. She sits down and he sits besides her nestling her in his arms.)
JOHN: “He’s not gonna hurt you again I promise you.”
(He brushes his lips with hers. Both not noticing Roman standing at the door.)
ROMAN: “No you’re wrong John your not gonna hurt Marlena anymore. You’re a lying bastard the only thing you’ve done for her is hurt her. She will leave you sooner or later and I’ll be there to pick up the pieces.”
JOHN: “Leave now Roman”
ROMAN: “I’m not leaving until she sets you straight. Go on Marlena tell him your leaving him.”
JOHN: “Don’t listen to him Doc tell him to go”
(Marlena feeling the pressure building up inside gets her bag and runs out. Roman and John follow her from behind.)
JOHN: “Baby come back”
(Marlena runs into her car turns the ignition on and suddenly out of nowhere a car comes and slams into her car.)

(John and Roman stop dead in their tracks. Marlena’s car all crumpled up infront of the two men. John runs to her car.)
JOHN: “Marlena I’m coming hold on. Marlena if you can hear me say something.”
MARLENA: “John help me.”
JOHN: “I’m coming.”
(When Roman turns around the driver of the other car had disappeared along with the car. He ran to were John was calming Marlena down.)
ROMAN: “John it’s a hit and run the drivers gone. Is she O.K.?”
JOHN: “I think can you help me get her in to the hospital?”
ROMAN: “No worries partner.”
MARLENA: “Am I gonna die? John I love you.”
ROMAN: “Your not gonna die hold on.”
(They slowly pull Marlena out of the wrecked car and rush her into the hospital. The doctors take her in straight away. Sami, Belle, Caroline and Shawn arrive.)
SAMI: “Daddy were is mum?”
ROMAN: “She’s with the doctors.”
BELLE: “Where’s dad?”
ROMAN: “Over there.”
(Belle walks towards John.)
SAMI: “dad is it serious?”
ROMAN: “Kids I wish I knew.”
CAROLINE: “What happened?”
ROMAN: “Hit and run it’s my fault.”
SHAWN: “Son you can’t blame yourself.”
ROMAN: “Yeah I can I was pushing her to tell John that she didn’t love him and she ran out and got in her car you know the rest.”
SAMI: “Dad why were you making her say she didn’t love John?”
ROMAN: “I don’t wanna talk about it.”
(Belle, John and two doctors walk over.)
BELLE: “What’s happening?”
DOCTOR: “She’s suffering from internal bleeding and concussion.”
JOHN: “Is it serious?”
ROMAN: “Yes Doctor is she O.K.? I’m Detective Roman Brady.”
DOCTOR: “The internal bleeding is being treated for now. She also has bruises on her legs she might need a wheelchair for few weeks.”
BELLE: (Laughing) “We’ll be at her beck and call!”
JOHN: “Atleast she’s allright.”
CAROLINE: “Is it O.K. if we see her?”
DOCTOR: “Dr. Evan’s-Brady needs a lot of rest. I suppose you can see her for few minutes no stress.”
(John about to tell the Doctor that it was Dr. Evan’s-Black just smiled and headed for his wife’s room.)
SAMI: “Thankyou Dr.”
(John, Belle, Roman, Sami, Eric, Shawn and Caroline walk into Marlena’s room were she is sleeping for the moment. The sight of her hooked up to machines melts John’s heart. He sits next to her placing his hand in hers. Belle, Sami and Eric stand on the other side.)
JOHN: “Doc can you hear me?”
(Marlena slowly opens her eyes and smiles.)
BELLE: “Mum! Your O.K.”
MARLENA: “That must mean I look good!”
JOHN: “You look beautiful!”
SAMI: “How you feeling?”
MARLENA: “Do you want me to tell you everything that’s hurting?”
SAMI: “Yep!”
MARLENA: “Who hit me?”
JOHN: “It was a hit and run but I promise you I will find the culprit and he or she will pay.”
BELLE: “You didn’t tell us what hurts.”
ROMAN: “Go on tell us how much you’re gonna torture us!”
MARLENA: “My head hurts, my chest and my legs I think that’s about all for now.”
JOHN: “Sounds right.”
MARLENA: “It sounds right? What does that mean?”
ROMAN: “The doctor told us that those body parts would hurt.”
CAROLINE: “Since your allright you properly want some rest so we will leave you alone.”
MARLENA: “O.K. thanks for coming.”
SHAWN: “No worries you call us if you need ‘anything.”
JOHN: “We will.”
CAROLINE: “Kids you guys coming?”
BELLE: “I’m gonna stay with mum bit longer.”
(Caroline nods.)
SEAN: “Sami, Roman you 2 coming?”
SAMI: “Yeah I’ll go to.”
ROMAN: “I’ll be of aswell.”
SAMI: “Seeya mum I’ll be back tomorrow. Get heaps of rest if you wanna get outta here!”
ROMAN: “Bye Doc I’ll seeya soon. Take care John.”
SAMI: “Watch out for her John she’ll keep you on your toes now! Love you seeya tomorrow.”
MARLENA: “Bye I love you both aswell.”
(After they kiss Marlena they all walk out leaving John, Marlena and Belle in the room.)
BELLE: “I’ll leave to mum you get some rest I’ll be back tomorrow aswell.”
(She kisses Marlena and leaves.)
JOHN: “Alone at last!”
MARLENA: “I’m gonna be in a wheelchair aren’t I?”
JOHN: “For few weeks that’s all. You were very lucky.”
MARLENA: “Thanks to you and Roman getting me out of the car without panicking. I’m tired.”
JOHN: “Well then let’s go to bed then.”
MARLENA: “You gonna join me I’m feeling lonely?”
JOHN: “If you want me to.”
MARLENA: “I want you to lay down with me I feel safer with you next to me.”
JOHN: “Well when you put it like that how could I resist. I’m sorry you had to go through this because of Roman and I. We will find the low-life that did this to you and put him away for good.”
MARLENA: It’s not your fault. Let’s sleep!”
(John slowly moves Marlena over and slides into bed next to her. He cradles her and she falls asleep in his arms. He prays in his head to god for looking after her.)
JOHN: “I love you Marlena.”(John slowly falls asleep aswell.)

(John and Marlena sleep peacefully in each other’s arms. Marlena only woke up few times in the night because of the pain in her legs. Marlena slowly opens her eyes and barley sees Roman outside her room looking at her. She signals that she’s up and Roman feeling uncomfortable that he will be in there as John is still sleeping with his arms protecting Marlena slowly walks into the room. John wakes up.)
ROMAN: “How you feeling today Doc?”
MARLENA: “Sore all over!”
JOHN: “What time is it?”
ROMAN: “Sorry to wake you its still early.”
JOHN: “That’s O.K. how you feeling?”
MARLENA: “I’m O.K. I guess.”
(John gets of the bed and stretches as Roman sits down.)
JOHN: “Good. Roman have you got any news on who hit Marlena?”
ROMAN: “As a matter of fact I have but I think you might need to sit down.”
MARLENA: “Why?”
ROMAN: “I’m not sure John will believe it.”
JOHN: “Roman tell us.”
ROMAN: “An anonymous tip has given us the evidence we need to suspect.”
MARLENA: “ROMAN! Just tell us.”
(John moves back to the bed and cradles Marlena again she puts her hands on his big hands.)
ROMAN: “Someone rang up the station and told us that they found a smashed at the front Blue car.”
JOHN: “That sounds like the state the other car was in it was blue and they hit Marlena head on.”
MARLENA: “Was anyone in it?”
ROMAN: “Yes… Brady.”
(Marlena nearly jumps out of the bed as John looks on in disbelief.)
MARLENA: “Brady tried to kill me?”
JOHN: “There must be some mistake.”
ROMAN: “I’m afraid not John, Brady was in the car. After the phonecall we went to where the person said the car was. Brady saw the cop cars and ran out of the car and we were unable to catch him. We took some fingerprints and they match Brady.”
MARLENA: “So he’s still out there?”
ROMAN: “Don’t worry Doc I’ll find him.”
JOHN: “He didn’t do it it’s a mistake. He wouldn’t.”
MARLENA: “Think about it John the only way to break us up would be to kill me.”
JOHN: “You think he did it don’t you? I’m going to find him.”
ROMAN: “No John you cant you were a cop and you know just as well as I do that if you leave the police will think you were involved.”
(Marlena looks at John. John not liking what he’s seeing immediately jumps to the wrong conclusion.)
JOHN: “You think I did it don’t you? You think I was in with killing my wife?”
(John gets of the bed and faces Marlena.)
MARLENA: “John I never said that but last night you told me that when you found out who did this you’d make them pay. You know who did it but it was your son even though you don’t believe it so its O.K. he can come live with us again like nothing’s happened right? Well no if you wont do anything about him then go find him leave me alone I don’t need you.”
JOHN: “Excuse me? What does that mean?”
MARLENA: “It means that Brady sued Roman for accidentally shooting him and you were all for it even though you and Roman used to be friends but your son try’s to kill your wife purposely and your not fazed in the slightest.”
JOHN: “Did I ever say that?”
MARLENA: “You don’t have to you don’t believe poor precious Brady could do this.”
ROMAN: “I think I better go.”
MARLENA: “No stay were do we go from here?”
ROMAN: “Commander Jackson is outside and he said that he needed to talk to all of us. Are you O.K. with him coming now?”
MARLENA: “Yeah that’s fine. John?”
JOHN: “Bring him in.”
(Marlena reached out to John and pulled on his hand with a ‘I’m sorry’ look on her face he smiled back at her and moved next to hold her hand standing beside her. Roman walked out of the room and returned with an other man.)
ROMAN: “Commander Jackson this is Dr. Evan’s-Black the victim and her husband John Black.”
COMMANDER JACKSON: “Nice to meet you. I’m sorry about your accident Dr. Evan’s.”
MARLENA: “Thankyou. Roman said you needed to see all three of us.”
COMMANDER JACKSON: “Yes, the police think it’s a good idea for Dr. Evan’s and Detective Brady to go in police protection.”
JOHN: “What about me?”
COMMANDER JACKSON: “Dr. Evan’s and Detective Roman are our main priority due to the fact that your son is after them but if you want to accompany your wife that’s O.K.”
JOHN: “I would like to protect her.”
MARLENA: “Where do we go? Do we stay together?”
COMMANDER JACKSON: “You will go to another city we don’t tell you till your there part of the protection you are also not allowed to tell anyone your going to police protection. Most people say there going on vacation. If you all don’t feel comfortable you don’t have to stay together but we advise that you do so you can all look out for eachother.”
ROMAN: “When do we leave?”
COMMANDER JACKSON: “You can leave ASAP. Dr. and Mr. Black will have to wait until Dr. Evan’s can get out of hospital then it wont look so obvious.”
MARLENA: “How long will we be gone for? We have children.”
COMMANDER JACKSON: “I’m aware of that but we don’t know how long hopefully until Brady’s put away and there’s no danger here in Salem concerning you three.”
JOHN: “Thankyou for all your help.”
COMMANDER JACKSON: “My pleasure I’ll go and leave you three to work things out. Roman I think you should head up there in about 2-3 days.”
ROMAN: “No problem.”
(The commander leaves John, Roman and Marlena alone.)
MARLENA: “John are you coming with me?”
JOHN: “Of course.”
(Roman thought it would just be him and Marlena that would give them time to bond again. But John assured Marlena he was coming.)
ROMAN: “I’m gonna go and get things organized. Seeya both.”
MARLENA: “Will you be back before you leave or will we see you up there?”
ROMAN: “I’ll be back later on today.”
(John wondering why his wife was so keen on being close to her ex-husband just smiled at him. Roman walked over and kissed Marlena’s cheek then walked out. )
MARLENA: “Are you mad at me?”
JOHN: “Why do you say that?”
MARLENA: “Because if Brady liked me we wouldn’t be in this mess.”
JOHN: “Hey you listen to me what Brady has done to you is unforgivable. I don’t hate you I love you.”
MARLENA: “I love you to so much. I really am sorry things turned out this way.”
JOHN: “Not as sorry as I am. My son did this to you.”
MARLENA: “I’m O.K. I’m only in a wheelchair for few months.”
JOHN: “You shouldn’t be in one at all.”
MARLENA: “We can’t dwell on the shouldn’t.”
JOHN: “Anyway the main things your allright and we will be outta here soon. Do you mind if I go home for about half an hour to change my clothes and tell Belle I’m going to take you on a vacation?”
MARLENA: “No of course not be back soon.”
JOHN: “I will. I love you. You get some sleep. The doctor should be in soon aswell.”
MARLENA: “Good I feel abit dizzy maybe he can tell me what that’s about. I love you. I’ll try to sleep.”
JOHN: “Good seeya soon. I’ll be back before the doctor comes.”
MARLENA: “Bye.”
(John kisses Marlena’s cheek and exits the room. Marlena lays down she reviews everything that’s happened in the last week. Her and John were barley on speaking terms then her and John made up. Things were going good then this. She was glad all three of them would be staying together. It may seem weird for both John and Roman but she needed their re-assurance. She loved both of them in different ways. For some reason everytime she was around Roman she just wanted to hug him or be in his arms. She wondered if she were falling for him again. Then she remembered everything her and John had been through the last few months and knew that her heart was with John. She closed her eyes and fell asleep.)

(John arrived in Marlena’s room few minutes before the doctor had. Marlena was asleep so he went up to her bed and kissed her lips softly which woke her up.)
JOHN: “Hey sleepy head. Good to see you listened to me and got some sleep.”
MARLENA: “I always listen to you!”
(Marlena pulls John in for a kiss as the doctor walks in)
DOCTOR: “Why hello there.”
(Marlena and John jump slightly. John moves away from Marlena and looks at the doctor. He sits beside her on the bed.)
JOHN: “How’s she doing?”
DOCTOR: “Well I have some news.”
MARLENA: “Oh no something happened?”
DOCTOR: “No no don’t worry I have good news. I know what’s causing you dizzy spells.”
JOHN: “You do what?”
DOCTOR: “A baby.”
MARLENA: “A baby? How can a baby be causing me to get dizzy?”
JOHN: “She’s pregnant?”
MARLENA: “WHAT?”
DOCTOR: “Well since the other doctor in the room didn’t get it I’ll have to spell it out to you. You’re having a baby.”
MARLENA: “I can’t be.”
DOCTOR: “You are.”
MARLENA: “How come you didn’t detect this earlier? What if the baby’s been harmed from the accident?”
DOCTOR: “The baby’s fine it was detected earlier but you as a doctor should know that we run tests first if the mother has been in an accident to see if the baby’s O.K. The baby’s fine. Your 3 months along.”
MARLENA: “I’m to old what if I can’t carry the baby to term?”
JOHN: “Oh no.”
DOCTOR: “You have to be careful your last child was premature so take it easy.”
MARLENA: “O.K. one thing my last child was years ago and what am I supposed to do sleep for 9 months?”
JOHN: “Doc its O.K.”
DOCTOR: “The Commander that was hear with you before told me about the Police Protection you both are going into so you should be fine away from danger and stress.”
MARLENA: “Don’t lie to me there’s a 50-50 chance I will lose this child isn’t there?”
DOCTOR: “I won’t lie to you there is. But the odds are with you because you’re going out of danger. If you were to stay in Salem I don’t think the baby would have survived not with your stepson lurking around.”
(John not looking happy about the way the doctor said the sentence hugged Marlena.)
MARLENA: “When will I be released? What about the wheelchair, how will I look after a baby in a wheelchair?”
DOCTOR: “The wheelchairs temporary you know that. You will be released tomorrow.”
JOHN: “Thankyou doctor.”
DOCTOR: “My pleasure.”
(The doctor walked out of the room. John looked at Marlena with a smile on his face but Marlena had a worried look on her face.)
JOHN: “Hey its O.K. we’re gonna be fine.”
MARLENA: “John I’m to old I can’t look after a baby. What if I miscarriage? You’ll blame me.”
JOHN: “There is no way I’d blame you for that. Its O.K.”
MARLENA: “Thankyou for reassuring me. 3 months I have only started to feel dizzy now when could I have conceived?”
JOHN: “Well obviously not yesterday! Must have been 3 months ago you know we have made love in the last 3 months.”
MARLENA: Not that often though.”
JOHN: “Well your pregnant so we did now stop stressing.”
(John is about to get into bed with Marlena to comfort her when Roman walks in. John not looking to impressed when they go into protection John will have no private time with Marlena. She won’t want to make love and kiss with Roman in the next room.)
ROMAN: “Doc you O.K.? You look a little bit worried.”
MARLENA: “I am. When are you leaving?”
(Marlena and Roman have a conversation practically forgetting John was even there.)
ROMAN: “Hey you can tell me if there’s something wrong you know that.”
(Roman moves to the other side of Marlena opposite from John. Marlena looks at John and decides she will tell him about the pregnancy since the will be living together for most of it.)
MARLENA: “Roman I’m pregnant.”
ROMAN: “Aren’t you supposed to be happy?”
JOHN: (Angrily) “We are.”
ROMAN: “Sorry.”
MARLENA: “JOHN! That’s allright Roman I’m just worried that because of my age I wont be able to carry the baby to term.”
ROMAN: “You will be fine.”
(He hugs Marlena. John getting more and more jealous.)
MARLENA: “Thanks.”
ROMAN: “The reason I’m here is that John has to make a testimony about Brady tomorrow night.”
MARLENA: “But we are leaving tomorrow night.”
ROMAN: “So am I we can go up together and John can come when he’s finished.”
JOHN: “I hate to break up your little picnic the two of you have going on here but why would Marlena and I leave separately for *OUR* holiday?”
MARLENA: “John what’s wrong?”
JOHN: “Nothing.”
MARLENA: “If that’s nothing what’s something?”
JOHN: “I just wanna know how it will look if my *PREGNANT* wife leaves the same time as her ex-husband then her husband trails behind.”
MARLENA: “JOHN! What’s with the sarcasm lately? Romans trying to help.”
ROMAN: “Maybe I should stay on my own.”
(John wanting to say maybe he should held back.)
MARLENA: “No we are all going together to watch out for eachother. Why don’t we leave after the testimony?”
ROMAN: “I’ll leave in the afternoon don’t worry John.”
MARLENA: “Why don’t you just wait for us?”
ROMAN: “I think John would rather I don’t.”
MARLENA: “Don’t be silly we don’t mind do we John?”
JOHN: “I’m not fazed.”
ROMAN: “O.K. then I’ll come past the Penthouse after the testimony.”
MARLENA: “That’s fine. Seeya then.”
(Roman exits.)
MARLENA: “Now that that’s all worked out can we sleep?”
JOHN: “Do what you want.”
MARLENA: “Your mad at me aren’t you?”
JOHN: “Don’t worry about me I’m fine just sleep”
MARLENA: “OK” (John lays on the bed next to her and they fell asleep. Was Marlena falling for Roman?)

(Marlena had been released from the hospital early that morning. She had been given a wheelchair. She could stand and walk abit but preferred to use the wheelchair until she was fully recovered. Her and John had gone to the Penthouse and started packing their things. They had told everyone that they were taking a much deserved vacation and were going to our around the world for 6 months maybe even a year. Roman had said that he had gotten a job overseas and was going to take it to get away from Salem. John had wished he would leave Marlena and him alone. Marlena and John went to the courthouse and made their testimonies after that they went back to the Penthouse to wait for Roman. He was going to fly on the Black Jet with them. John had been trying all day to find a way for Roman to go up on his own so that he and Marlena could have some time alone for the last time but Marlena kept insisting that they all go together. Marlena wanting Roman next to her with everything she did confused John. He couldn’t figure out why. She couldn’t love him. Or could she? John was sitting on the couch and Marlena was gazing out the window.)
JOHN: “Is he coming in the near future?”
MARLENA: “He will be here as soon as he can be. Maybe we should have met at the airport so it didn’t look fishy.”
JOHN: “Maybe we should have gone on our own.”
MARLENA: “John why are you being like this? Why don’t you want him to come?”
JOHN: “Why do you want him to come?”
MARLENA: “Because incase you haven’t noticed Roman, Your unborn child and I are in a lot of danger so I think we should stick together. Maybe you shouldn’t come with me I’m having enough trouble trying not to tell anyone what’s happening I’m to scared to pick anything up or do anything just incase I do something to our child and I have you constantly picking fights with me.”
JOHN: “We don’t need to do everything with Roman. I’m not picking fights with you I’m making points. Besides he’s the one who is responsible for Brady being in the wheelchair. I will never have time alone with you again for ages.”
MARLENA: “Oh so that’s what this is about not about Brady being in a wheelchair it’s about your ‘Sex Life’. Poor John won’t get any action for a while my heart goes out to you John it really does. Here’s a newsflash for you John not everything in this world revolves around John Black’s sex life there are more important things in life. You would rather have a sex life then save your unborn child, wife and an old friend.”
JOHN: “Its not like that Marlena look at it from my point of view will you for one moment will you. My son is trying to kill my wife so I have to choose over my wife and my son. My wife is pregnant which I am thrilled about don’t get me wrong but it’s a delicate pregnancy which is not your fault but even talking to you is impossible in your books. Wait there’s more we have been put in police protection, which is the best thing to do in our situation but my wife’s ex-husband’s coming with us. So for months I wont be able you kiss my wife or even feel my baby kicking because her ex will be watching every move we make like a hawk. Is that normal Marlena?”
MARLENA: “John nothing has ever been normal in our marriage or our life before we got married so I don’t see why you all of a sudden want normality. Why can’t I look out for friends John? I don’t remember my vows saying that I wasn’t allowed to have friends once I became your wife.”
JOHN: “I don’t remember them saying that taking vacations with your wife and her ex was in the vows either.”
(Marlena now screaming at John)
MARLENA: “John for the last time this isn’t a vacation. If this was Isabella you’d be doing everything you could to protect her.”
JOHN: “Again with Isabella when will you stop using her as an excuse?”
MARLENA: “When will you get over your wife having male friends? You know that you would do anything to protect Isabella or even Kristen. Takes it from me you were devastated when Kristen died you shut me out of your life remember? Did I get all jealous on you? No I didn’t I stood by you even when you turned away from me. But now that I’m trying to protect the father of my children one of my closest friends the person who if it weren’t for me wouldn’t be in this situation with Brady I get the ‘Not allowed to” talk. No John I won’t stand for it you either back of or stay here. What will it be?”
(John looked into Marlena’s bright eyes which had tears pouring out of them, he realized that he nearly lost her in an accident she had just had and not fully recovered from and instead of taking care of her he was fighting with her about Roman. He walked over to her, pulled her up from her wheelchair and hugged her tightly. Marlena didn’t know whether to keep screaming at John or hug him back. She gave into her heart and hugged him back just as tight as he was holding her. John pulled away from Marlena. She sat back in the wheelchair. John got down on his knees and cupped her chin in his hands.)
JOHN: “Doc I’m so sorry I don’t know what came over me. I shouldn’t be fighting with you. Don’t think I’m upset because our love life might not occur while were in police protection its not that. I missed out on feeling Belle kick and singing to her and rubbing your back and neck and all the things a father should do to his wife and child. My fear is that you won’t let me do that with Roman around because it will be awkward for the both of you.”
MARLENA: “Oh John I want you to be there even when I feel a tiny movement in my stomach. It will be weird but Roman will accept it and move on. I don’t want you to miss anything about this pregnancy.”
JOHN: “Good coz I’m not gonna.”
(They embraced eachother and then kissed a long passionate kiss. As they were pulling away from eachother the doorbell rang. Marlena wheeled herself across the room and answered it.)
ROMAN: “You both ready to go?”
JOHN: “Sure are. Ready Doc?”
MARLENA: “Yep. Lets go.”
JOHN: “Roman…”
ROMAN: “Yes John.”
JOHN: “I’m sorry for being rude before.”
ROMAN: “That’s allright John it’s forgotten.”
MARLENA: “We going men??”
JOHN: “Yep!”
(John wheeled Marlena out of the Penthouse and shut the door. Roman was infront of her. Marlena mouthed to John that she loved him, John smiled at her and gave her a quick peck on the lips. Roman just smiled. He would have to get used to this. They all got into Roman’s car and headed for the airport.)

(John, Marlena and Roman sat on the Black jet in silence. Marlena and John sat on one couch on one side of the plane in each other’s arms and Roman on the other side reading a magazine, which he had found on the plane. Roman had never been on the plane (Other then the time her caught John and Marlena in a clinch the new years eve after he had come back.). He looked over at John and Marlena entwined in each other’s arms and wondered if that was the couch the made love on that night so many years ago that changed Roman’s perfect marriage. John got up to talk to the pilot and Marlena noticed Roman was no longer reading his magazine but looking at photos. Roman looked up and saw Marlena looking at him.)
MARLENA: “What are you looking at Roman?”
ROMAN: “Umm.. Just some photos.”
MARLENA: “Of what may I ask?”
ROMAN: “You don’t wanna know.”
MARLENA: “I don’t get it.”
(Roman walked over to Marlena holding the photo album out in front of her as she took it from his hands she realized that all the photos in the album were her and Roman.)
MARLENA: “All these photos are of you and I.”
ROMAN: “Yes I know that, that’s why I thought you might not want to see them I take them everywhere with me when I go on holidays or away from home.”
MARLENA: “Roman you have to let go of the past.”
(Neither Marlena nor Roman has noticed but John has returned and is behind them he listening in on them)
ROMAN: “I don’t think it’s as easy for me as it was for you.”
MARLENA: “Roman it wasn’t easy for me but I realized that we had a great love and good times but our love was not to grow old, it was in the moment. That’s what made it so special. But I have moved on and as you now I’m expecting John’s second child and I love him. Maybe where ever we are going you will find someone you have feelings for. All I want for you is to be happy.”
ROMAN: “I know you do Doc.”
(Roman and Marlena embrace and John wonder’s if Marlena meant what she said to Roman. He was hoping that she wasn’t just saying that because she hurt Roman terribly and didn’t want to hurt John aswell.)
MARLENA: “John, Honey I didn’t see you there what did the pilot say?”
JOHN: “He said that we will be landing now.”
ROMAN: “Do you know where?”
JOHN: “No fraid not.”
(Roman stood up and went back to were he was sitting before he got ready for landing. John went and sat with Marlena again.)
JOHN: “He still loves you.”
MARLENA: “I know but I love you.”
JOHN: “Good now get ready to land.”
MARLENA: “O.K. I love you.”
JOHN: “I love you to now get ready.”
MARLENA: “I love you.”
JOHN: “OK Marlena I get the point baby.”
(John kissed Marlena. Roman looked at them and remembered when Marlena used to play those games with him. Telling him that she loved him and waiting for a kiss. The plane landed at a small airport in the middle of a big city called New York.)

(After landing in New York John, Marlena and Roman were taken by taxi to a big apartment block in the middle of the city. They were on the 15th floor. The apartment was big with 3 bedrooms. Which could come in handy if they were still there when the baby arrived. Hopefully they wouldn’t be though. It was set out good. At the front of the apartment there was one room, a lounge room and dinning then following through the kitchen, another lounge and the other two bedrooms on practically the other side of the house. Roman went straight to the first room seeing as he didn’t think it was appropriate to be next door to John and Marlena. They all started unpacking. John was lying on the bed and Marlena was in her wheelchair putting things in cupboards.)
MARLENA: “It would be so much easier if I could walk. I hate this wheelchair I’m in New York and in a wheelchair.”
(John got of the bed and went to where Marlena was folding the clothes he bent down to her height and took her hand.)
JOHN: “Hey Doc its not forever you know that. If you wanted to you’d be fine without it for few hours but if you want to explore New York properly I suggest you stay in it. O.K.?”
MARLENA: “Yes sir! I love you, you know that?”
JOHN: “Yeah I do but anyway.”
(Roman walked into the bedroom and got their attention.)
ROMAN: “I just got a fax from Commander Jackson.”
MARLENA: “What does it say?”
ROMAN: “He said that were in New York. Obviously! And we have names we have to go under.”
JOHN: “We have to change our names aswell?”
ROMAN: “I’m afraid so around each other and the apartment were John, Marlena and Roman but out in the city and that we are Connor-That’s you John. Alexia- that’s you Marlena and Tony-that’s me. Don ask me where they came up with them.”
MARLENA: “Well they have to be names we wouldn’t use I guess. Do we have last names Roman?”
ROMAN: “Oh yeah sorry forgot! You two are Nash and I am Jacob’s.”
JOHN: “O.K. then Alexia and… What was it again?”
(Marlena hit John’s back lightly and laughed.)
MARLENA: “Tony was his name John!”
JOHN: “Baby its Conner!”
MARLENA: “Sorry I think John suits you better.”
JOHN: “Well I don’t think you’re an Alexia either but do you hear me saying anything?”
ROMAN: “O.K. getting back to this we can go out and get jobs were ever we want.”
MARLENA: “One problem my degree will obviously say Marlena Evan’s not Alexia Nash.”
(John looking a little annoyed.)
JOHN: “I thought you re-printed your degree saying Dr. Marlena Evan’s-Black.”
MARLENA: “No I didn’t. Did I say I did?”
JOHN: “Oh I don’t know I thought you did.”
ROMAN: “O.K. again back to this.”
MARLENA: “Sorry.”
ROMAN: “Its O.K. I finished unpacking so I am going to site see a bit. Marlena I suggest you contact Commander Jackson he will be able to re-do a paper for you to give into people for a job.”
JOHN: “If its that easy why didn’t you do one when we got married?”
MARLENA: “John no time for jealous acts again. I changed it after Roman and I divorced I didn’t see the point in changing it again O.K.?”
ROMAN: “I’ll leave you guys to it.”
MARLENA: “Ah Roman no pressure but what time will you be back so we can eat?”
ROMAN: “Oh no I will leave you two to eat alone you don’t want me tagging along.”
JOHN: “We wont leave you on your own go out and find us somewhere to eat Tony!”
MARLENA: “Yeah it’s all up to you.”
ROMAN: “O.K. then I’m of.”
MARLENA: “Seeya.”
(Roman left Marlena and John alone.)
MARLENA: “While Romans out finding somewhere to eat can we sleep a bit please I feel exhausted?”
JOHN: “No worries.”
MARLENA: “John I’m really proud about the way you have been handling things with Roman. Except for the thing about changing the name on a piece of paper.”
JOHN: “I’m sorry I knew you changed it when you married Roman so I assumed you changed it when we got married but that’s O.K.”
MARLENA: “Once we resume our life I promise you that I will change it to Dr. Marlena Black. O.K.?”
JOHN: “Without the Evan’s?”
MARLENA: “Aha.”
JOHN: “Wow! Lets get you into bed.”
MARLENA: “O.K.”
(John picked Marlena up from her wheelchair and placed her on the bed she slipped on a tracksuit and top to sleep in until she found her proper sleeping clothes. Once she was finished she slowly got up and pulled the covers up and got into bed. She was proud on how she managed to get up without pains. John saw she was happy with herself. He slipped into bed next to her.)
JOHN: “I’m proud of the way you handled that situation.”
MARLENA: “So am I.”
JOHN: “Good work Dr. Evan’s.”
MARLENA: “No it’s actually Dr. Nash!”
JOHN: “Oh yeah forgot again!”
MARLENA: “I love you. Goodnight.”
JOHN: “I love you too and goodnight even though it’s not actually night!”
MARLENA: “Very funny!”
(John held Marlena in his arms as they both fell asleep. He was sure that she loved him only him. With that he slept like a baby.)

(After about an hour Roman returned from his job of finding somewhere for he three of them to eat. He walked into the living room expecting to find either Marlena or John but it was empty he assumed due to how quiet the apartment was that they were sleeping in their room. He didn’t want to see them sleeping together so he went into his room and lay down. Marlena had heard the door open and close and realized Roman was home. She slowly detached herself from John and got up. She decided to get in her wheelchair and save her strength for tonight. She wheeled herself into the living room but Roman wasn’t there. She could hear something coming from Roman’s room so she went to find him. She was right Roman was in his room on the bed.)
MARLENA: “So where are we eating?”
ROMAN: “Doc I did I wake you?”
MARLENA: “Nah I was just lying down when you came in. You didn’t answer me where are we eating?”
ROMAN: “A little restaurant I found in the middle of the city. Do you mind being around a lot of people?”
MARLENA: “No of course not that’s fine. When do you want to go?”
ROMAN: “Whenever you and John are ready.”
MARLENA: “John’s sleeping at the moment. I really want to go out and see abit of New York if John wakes up before I get back would you tell him to get ready to go and I’ll be back soon?”
ROMAN: “Tell you what why don’t we leave him a note and I come with you if you don’t mind?”
MARLENA: “Of course not that would be great. Ill go get dressed and write John a note. Be right back ok get ready.”
ROMAN: “I’m ready.”
(Marlena wheeled herself into the kitchen got a paper and pen and wrote John a note:
John,
Roman and I have gone out for some fresh air we will be back soon.
I have my cellphone and Roman has his if you need us call us.
Roman has found somewhere to eat so get ready and when we come back we can go.
I love you lots and I miss you already!

Marlena got dressed and her and Roman set out to see New York. Shortly after Roman and Marlena left John woke up he noticed Marlena wasn’t with him. He turned over properly to her side of the bed and saw a piece of paper saying John on it. He opened it up and read the letter)
JOHN: “So she’s gone of with Roman. If he try’s anything on her I will kill him. He wants her badly. No actually he doesn’t want her he’s using her. I wrecked his family so he wants to wreck mine. Well Roman its not gonna happen your not gonna have Marlena I swear on it.”
(Just then the phone rang. John wondered who it could be. They had just come here and no one knew them. Maybe it was Commander Jackson. He answered the phone.)
JOHN: “John Black here.”
MARLENA: “Baby your Conner Nash remember?”
JOHN: “Marlena where are you?”
MARLENA: “I’m in the city why? I left you a note did you get it?”
JOHN: “Yeah I did thanks for being so considerate.”
MARLENA: “Honey what’s wrong?”
JOHN: “Nothing.”
MARLENA: “Do you want us to come home?”
JOHN: “Us?”
MARLENA: “Yes Roman and I are you sure theirs nothing wrong?”
JOHN: “Yeah I’m fine don’t worry. Where are you maybe I could meet you both.”
MARLENA: “No don’t worry we are coming home soon. I have to go Roman’s back seeya.”
JOHN: “What do you mean Roman’s back?”
MARLENA: “He went to get ice-cream.”
JOHN: “Oh that’s wonderful I thought we were gonna eat.”
MARLENA: “We are I’ll be home soon. Love you bye.”
(Marlena hung up the phone she knew John was upset so she had decided to go home.)
MARLENA: “Roman I think we should go back. John didn’t sound right.”
ROMAN: “If you want here’s your ice-cream.”
(Roman bent down to give Marlena her ice cream. The top of the ice cream fell of onto Marlena.)
ROMAN: “Oh Doc I’m so sorry let me help you.”
MARLENA: “That’s O.K. Roman accidents happen. Do you have a napkin on you?”
ROMAN: “Yeah I do here you go.”
(Roman brushed the ice cream of Marlena’s pants. The tension between them was strong. Roman, giving into the passion lent in and kissed Marlena. Marlena was shocked as much as she new it was wrong she didn’t stop him from kissing her. After about 10 seconds she pushed on him to stop.)
MARLENA: “Roman please stop. Its wrong.”
ROMAN: “Sorry Doc I don’t know what came over me.”
MARLENA: “It wasn’t your fault I didn’t stop you.”
ROMAN: “Doc I’m sorry I really am.”
MARLENA: “It’s not your fault. It can’t happen again Roman I’m married to John.”
ROMAN: “I know you are I’m sorry for pushing you.”
MARLENA: “Can we go now?”
ROMAN: “Sure.”
(Roman pushed Marlena back to the apartment in silence. What was he doing? That’s what John did he pushed Marlena pursuing her to sleep with him. Roman was not going to stoop to John’s level to win her back. He looked down at her holding her stomach in her arms. How could he win Marlena back when she’s pregnant to John? He couldn’t let this child grow up without their father. What was he going to do? Marlena sat in her chair stunned. What had she done to John? She had to tell him she had to be honest with John. She loved John but for some reason she didn’t stop Roman from kissing her. Meanwhile John was at the apartment thinking about Roman and Marlena. Marlena wouldn’t leave him for Roman for two reasons. She doesn’t love him is one and two they have a child on the way and Marlena wouldn’t deprive her child of a proper life. She wouldn’t let Roman steal his family. He heard the door open as he turned around he saw Marlena come in being wheeled by Roman. She looked upset. He walked over to her.)

JOHN: “Doc are you O.K.?”
MARLENA: “Yeah I’m fine.”
JOHN: “You get ice cream on your pants?”
ROMAN: “I accidentally spilt it on her.”
JOHN: “Oh O.K. Honey are you sure you are all right?”
MARLENA: “Yeah we going out now?”
ROMAN: “Let me get changed.”
JOHN: “Yeah I might put something warmer on and it seems you need to change pants Doc.”
MARLENA: “Yeah.”
(Roman walked towards his room and John walked behind Marlena and pushed her wheelchair to their room. When they reached their room he closed the door so they could change.)
JOHN: “Marlena you’re not O.K. I can tell. What’s wrong?”
MARLENA: “I have something to tell you but I don’t think you’re gonna be happy about it. John please don’t get upset or mad at me. I love you.”
JOHN: “What is it?”
MARLENA: “Roman kissed me.”
JOHN: “What?”
MARLENA: “Just what I said.”
JOHN: “Your not trying to tell me your having an affair are you coz if you are you could atleast have the decency to tell me not make me guess.”
MARLENA: “JOHN how could you think I’m having an affair? I said he kissed me not slept with me.”
JOHN: “I’ll kill him.”
MARLENA: “No John don’t I kissed him as well.”
JOHN: “WHAT?”
MARLENA: “Well he kissed me and I didn’t say anything until after.”
JOHN: “What do you want me to do Marlena?”
MARLENA: “Don’t leave me.”
JOHN: “I’m not gonna leave you I just want to know what you expect me to do.”
MARLENA: “I expect you to be mad.”
JOHN: “I’m not mad as such I just wanna know why he’s doing this to us. Marlena I’m not saying that he doesn’t care about you but my conclusion is that, your pregnant and he wants to ruin my family like I did his. Do you get me?”
MARLENA: “John I know you don’t think highly of Roman but he wouldn’t use me.”
JOHN: “I don’t know Doc.”
MARLENA: “John do you trust me?”
JOHN: “Yeah I do.”
MARLENA: “Can we forget about this then? Don’t tell Roman I told you and we will see what else happens but I hope your wrong.”
JOHN: “O.K. I hope I am but remember that he hid the fact that he got the all O.K. from the doctor and that he knew about us when he was sick.”
MARLENA: “I know but Kristen was involved then.”
JOHN: You should get ready to go. You are gonna have to spend a lot of time with him so we can see what he’s up to.”
MARLENA: “John that’s sneaky.”
JOHN: “If were right it wont be. Come on lets get ready to go.”
MARLENA: “Do you forgive me?”
JOHN: “Yes I do. I love you.”
MARLENA: “I love you, so much.”
(John walked over and gave Marlena a peck on the lips. They got dressed and all went out to eat. Marlena took her wheelchair with her for support.)

(Roman, John and Marlena left the apartment about 30 minutes after Roman and Marlena had returned. Roman led the way to the restaurant he’d picked out for them. John was pushing Marlena in her chair. Marlena didn’t want to trick Roman she believed that he kissed her because he loved her, a spare of the moment kiss that shouldn’t have happened. Not revenge act for John. Roman wasn’t conniving if it was Kristen or her involved then yes John would be right but not Roman. John was replaying the conversation he and Marlena had before they left. It wasn’t like the old Roman he used to be to plot against anyone but he could have changed. John remembered what it was like to be Roman. He loved Marlena so much then so Roman would have loved her just as much then aswell. They never really resolved their feelings when Roman came back on her wedding to John. Roman did love Marlena still he was trying to win his love back he and Marlena shared so by kissing her he was reminding her about their love. He wasn’t going to get her because she loved John.)
MARLENA: “Roman are we nearly there yet?”
ROMAN: “Yeah nearly.”
JOHN: “I think we should think about buying a car up here.”
MARLENA: “But we don’t know how long we will be here.”
JOHN: “Yeah but we can always sell it. Besides I don’t think we should leave until you have had the baby and you are both fit enough to return to Salem.”
MARLENA: “I guess that’s a good idea. When can we go looking for one?”
ROMAN: “I need one aswell. Maybe I could go with you John when you look for yours.”
MARLENA: “That’s a good idea. I need one too.”
JOHN: “Why?”
MARLENA: “When you’re out what am I gonna do?”
JOHN: “You are gonna be resting Dr.”
ROMAN: “Were here.”
MARLENA: “Smells nice.”
JOHN: “O.K. do we need reservations?”
ROMAN: “Yeah I reserved us a table. Let me go see if its ready.”
(Roman walks into the restaurant. John kneels down to Marlena.)
JOHN: “You sit in the middle of Roman and I O.K.?”
MARLENA: “No I’m not gonna be part of this John. It was a mistake that’s all I’m not going to interrogate Roman so drop it O.K.?”
JOHN: “What got you so worked up? You were O.K. with it in the beginning.”
MARLENA: “I know but its wrong Roman never did this to you.”
JOHN: “What’s that supposed to mean?”
MARLENA: “Nothing.”
(Just then Roman returned with a waitress. She showed them to their seats. They all eat in silence. Roman wondered what John had said to Marlena to make her look so down. John didn’t want to upset Marlena so he let his instinct go. He was going to continue his interrogation on his own. Marlena just wanted everything to be over.)

After the dinner they started walking back to the apartment. The whole dinner and walk back was practically like they had all vowed silence. No one knowing what to say. Marlena wondered if John had given up on his quest to destroy Roman. She also wondered if Roman was tricking them somehow. She lived with Roman for so many years he had never once deliberately tricked her. Roman wondered if Marlena had told John about their kiss. He got the feeling she had but didn’t say anything. He was savoring every second of that kiss. He loved her so much. He couldn’t have her though. Marlena was not going to ruin the baby’s life she blamed herself for not being they’re for the twins and she blames herself for Brady’s attitude. John had been watching Roman all night. He was watching the way he looked at Marlena. The impression he got was that he loved her but he wasn’t sure if that was just what he was trying to do to turn him of. When they reached the apartment John took his keys out of his pocket and opened the door. He went to take Marlena’s wheelchair handles but she bet him to it. She pushed herself to her room and closed the door. Roman and John sat in the living room.)
ROMAN: “John is something wrong?”
JOHN: “Why do you say that?”
ROMAN: “Because you and Marlena weren’t talking at dinner and you kept staring at me all night.”
JOHN: “I think you know why we were bearly talking.”
ROMAN: “She told you then?”
JOHN: “Yes Roman my wife told me that you made a play for her. So what game are you playing at? Why are you destroying our lives? I know in your eyes I destroyed your perfect life but that’s years ago and if it was so perfect it wouldn’t of been destroyed. Why won’t you leave us alone? We are expecting a child and your of kissing my wife. I know your using her to hurt me so why don’t you just give it up.”
ROMAN: “O.K. well here’s something for you John my life with Marlena was perfect until you came along and destroyed everything. I love Marlena and I’m not using her because I love her more then life itself. This is not about you John its about me and my feelings for your wife. If it wasn’t for you she would still be my wife.”
(John stood up and so did Roman they were yelling at eachother. Marlena heard them from her room and opened the door. She wheeled herself to the living room and stood at the door.)
JOHN: “Leave my family and I alone. You do anything to jeopardize my child’s life you will pay big time mate.”
MARLENA: “Stop it both of you. What the hell is going on in here?”
JOHN: “Doc I didn’t see you there.”
MARLENA: “You know I really am sick of this. Why wont you two just give it up? Why do you constantly have to one-up eachother? I’m not a trophy for you to take home I am a person, a person with feelings and emotions why don’t you both just stop this?”
ROMAN: “We care for you.”
MARLENA: “This is what you call caring? Well what in gods is not caring? No don’t tell me I don’t want to know. You are both acting like 5 year olds. Incase you haven’t noticed already I have a delicate pregnancy ahead of me I’m scared to death but you both keep fighting. What are you trying to do? Make me lose the baby?”
(John walks over to Marlena and tries to put his arm around her but she moves away. He looks at her.)
JOHN: “Doc I’m sorry Roman and I are being childish.”
MARLENA: “Well that’s an understatement.”
ROMAN: “I think I should find a place of my own I can’t go on living like this and its not good for you and the baby Marlena.”
MARLENA: “No you can’t go anywhere we said that we would stay together and we are gonna do that. Just stay well away from eachother and you will be fine.”
JOHN: “Look I wanna get one thing straight here and now. Roman I didn’t destroy anything I loved Marlena then just as much as I do now and she loved me. Yes I know you say its my fault but if you were really committed to her and your children you wouldn’t of just walked out on your wife leaving her alone when you knew that she would never be safe in Salem without protection. You left Marlena on her own with your twins a newborn which I know had nothing to do with you and your daughter from a previous marriage and you expected her to wait by the door for the day you would return. That’s not what men do or women for that fact.”
(Marlena was touched by the way John was sticking up for her after the affair. He had always told her it wasn’t her fault but the way he told Roman then made her tear up.)
MARLENA: “John its O.K. I think we should stop before this gets outta hand. Honey come one lets go for a walk.”
JOHN: “O.K lets go.”
ROMAN: “Doc I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have walked out on you and the kids I have regretted that since the day I left Salem. I wish things had of been different.”
(Marlena looked at Roman and just pulled out a faint smile. She turned to John and indicated that she needed to get out of the apartment. John turned her wheelchair around and led them outside leaving Roman alone in the apartment. John and Marlena walked in silence until Marlena finally broke the tension she slowly turned in her chair so she could see John. John stopped moving her and just looked at her beautiful eyes.)
MARLENA: “John I…..”
JOHN: “Shhh its O.K. don’t say it I’m the one who has to apologize to you.”
MARLENA: “No you don’t. I don’t know what’s wrong with me I was complaining you have been blowing hot and cold lately but its me who has been the last few days.”
JOHN: “My darling its called PREGNANCY!!”
MARLENA: “Oh you’re so funny aren’t you?”
JOHN: “I think I am.”
MARLENA: “Forgotten?”
JOHN: “Aha I love you.”
MARLENA: “I love you.”
(John bent down and kissed Marlena on the lips.)
JOHN: “What do you say we just go home and sleep! I could do with a good night sleep next to my wife.”
MARLENA: “I wish we were at home in our own bed.”
JOHN: “Honey I know but this is the way its gonna be for awhile so we may aswell call it our bed.”
MARLENA: “I guess your right.”
JOHN: “I got something that will cheer you up tomorrow were going shopping.”
MARLENA: “For what?”
JOHN: “Doctor Marlena Evan’s-Black is turning down shopping? We need few things for the apartment and we need a cot, a pram, a change table, a car seat do I need to tell you everything we need?”
MARLENA: “Were going shopping for the baby? Oh John I can’t wait. Another thing to is that my strength in my legs is getting better and I’m gonna walk around the shop tomorrow.”
JOHN: “Doc maybe we should hold out on that. I don’t want you pushing your self there is no hurry.”
MARLENA: “Oh John please I’ll be fine besides if I get tired there are two options.”
JOHN: “And they are?”
MARLENA: “My handsome husband can carry me home or push my in the pram!”
JOHN: “Quit the doctor thing and become a comedian.”
MARLENA: “Well I am giving up the doctor thing for awhile but I’m not taking comedian profession up I’m taking motherhood up.”
JOHN: “And you will be a fine mother.”
(Marlena all teary eyed.)
MARLENA: “I love you.”
JOHN: “Well pretty lady like I’ve said before that’s good coz your stuck with me.!”
MARLENA: “Theirs no one else id rather be stuck with in the whole world. Oh and another thing thanx for saying what you did to Roman about our affair. ”
JOHN: “I thought you’d tell me what I said was wrong.”
MARLENA: “It was beautiful.”
JOHN: “So are you. Let’s go home.”
(John and Marlena kissed then John turned her chair around and headed home to the apartment. Meanwhile Roman was at the apartment replaying his conversation with Marlena and his fight with John.)
ROMAN: (Out loud to himself.) “Man John’s right I left Marlena alone with Dimera on the loose. Its called Pride I had too much of it. How could I leave her with Sami, Eric, Belle and Carrie? She would have hated me then and I don’t blame her. If I stayed and worked things out with her like she pleaded with me to do I could have raised Belle. She would of thought of me as her father. Even if she saw John occasionally he was involved with Kristen and he could have stayed that way. I would have had Marlena and Belle and he could have had his life with Kristen. But no I left and let him take my family. Well theirs nothing you can do about it now Roman the women you have loved for so many years is pregnant, the fathers the man who everyone thought was you. She won’t leave John even if she could not with the baby. If things were different now the baby Marlena’s carrying would have been mine. It’s your own fault.”
(Roman went into his room and went to bed. Shortly after Marlena and John came home and crept into their room. They spent their first of many nights living under the same roof.)

(The next day John and Marlena woke up early and set of to get things for the apartment and the baby. Even though Marlena was only 3 months pregnant they wanted to be prepared. Roman woke up after John and Marlena and set out to do shopping for himself. John and Marlena spent the whole day shopping.)
JOHN: “Well my darling I think that you can tell that you have been shopping by the grin on your face!”
MARLENA: “Very funny can we sit down abit John my feet are really aching?”
JOHN: “Baby I told you not to take things to fast. Come on I saw a café I little further down from where we bought the cot.”
MARLENA: “Honey we have been shopping all day you cant honestly tell me that you aren’t tired.”
JOHN: “Yes I am but I’m not the one who has to take it easy n my legs am I?”
MARLENA: “Lets start working before I get another UN-called for lecture!”
(John took Marlena’s hand in his and they walked hand in hand to the café John had seen.)
JOHN: “We have arrived Madame Take a seat.”
MARLENA: “Thankyou. Ah that is better.”
(John looking at the menu)
JOHN: “Do you want to eat anything sweetheart?”
MARLENA: “No thanx I’m fine but I’m craving a hot chocolate. Well actually I think your child is craving one.”
JOHN: “Anything for my baby.”
MARLENA: “Which one?”
JOHN: “Both! Excuse me miss can we please have a hot chocolate and a short black?”
WAITRESS: “Certainly sir.”
(The waitress left and John noticed Marlena was daydreaming. He lent over the table and gave her a long passionate kiss, which left her gasping for air.)
MARLENA: “Wow where’d that come from?”
JOHN: “My mouth! You were a 100 miles away what were you thinking about?”
MARLENA: “Well for one I miss the kids and two I was thinking back to when I was carrying Belle and how you were always there for me despite not knowing that I was carrying your baby.”
JOHN: “I loved her like my own because of our history I felt what was yours was mine even if it was a child. On some level I knew she was mine I had this bond with her.”
MARLENA: “I love you so much.”
JOHN: ” I love you to now where did that come from?”
MARLENA: “My heart, I love you with all my heart.”
JOHN: “I love you with all my heart and in 6 months we are going to have another addition to the Black family.”
MARLENA: “I wish we were in Salem now and when the baby’s born.”
JOHN: “I know honey but I am not taking any risks.”
MARLENA: “Can I atleast ring Sami, Eric and Belle to tell them we are O.K. if I were on holidays I would of rang them.”
JOHN: “Honey you know the rules. If we ring them we will break the protection. I’m sorry.”
MARLENA: “That’s O.K.”
JOHN: “If its any consolation I miss the kids to and I’m worried about Brady I wanna know if he’s allright don’t get me wrong what he did isn’t something I’m happy about I will never forgive him but I’m not gonna disown him. You getting me?”
MARLENA: “Yes I am I know what you mean I went through it with Sami and Carrie.”
(The waitress brings them their drink and after they have finished they went home.)

(John and Marlena got home about 6 o’clock when they entered their apartment they threw all the shopping of the floor and were about to go crash on the couch when they heard laughter coming form the living room. As they slowly walked in they saw Roman and a women on the couch the women was practically on top of Roman. Roman noticed Marlena and John come in and pulled the women of him so he could stand up Marlena and John looked on in horror.)
ROMAN: “Doc, Conner there is someone I’d like you to meet. This is Candice.”
CANDICE: “Call me Candy.”
(The three exchanged handshakes.)
JOHN: “Nice to meet you Candy.”
MARLENA: “Yes its nice to meet you.”
CANDY: “Sure is.”
JOHN: “Well Doc and I will leave you alone.”
CANDY: “What is it with the name Doc you both call her that doesn’t she have a real name?”
MARLENA: “Does it matter to you what I’m called CANDY?”
ROMAN: “Candy, Ma…”
JOHN: “Alexia’s a doctor so we call her Doc isn’t that right Tony?”
ROMAN: “Yeah.”
CANDY: “Well I’m a striper what you gonna call me Tony?”
MARLENA: “A what?”
CANDY: “STRIPPER.”
JOHN: “O.K. Lex lets go put our things in the nursery.”
CANDY: “How many months has it been since you conceived?”
MARLENA: “WHAT?”
CANDY: “Had unprotected sex whateva.”
ROMAN: “I think Candy means how many months pregnant are you Doc.”
MARLENA: “Three.”
JOHN: “Lets go Doc.”
(Pulling Marlena with him. Marlena and John leave. Candy turns to Roman.)
CANDY: “Bit of a square how long you known her?”
ROMAN: “We were married.”
CANDY: “Lucky you got out of it she’s so uptight. Why you living with your ex and her new husband?”
ROMAN: “We are all pretty close it’s a long story! Let’s go for a walk or something.”
CANDY: “Sure.”
(Candy and Roman leave the apartment.)
MARLENA: “A stripper you sure she’s not a prostitute! Who does she think she is first my name then the baby. Like she’s anyone to comment on names.”
JOHN: “Why you getting worked up over her. Who cares what she thinks. Must admit though thought he could do better then her I agree she must be a prostitute. Just looking a t her. Where’d he pick her up?”
MARLENA: “A bordello that’s were.”
JOHN: “If he picked her up there then he was obviously there!”
MARLENA: “John you know what I mean there is something about her that 1 I don’t like and two is familiar.”
JOHN: “I’ve seen that face before.”
MARLENA: “A playboy magazine.”
JOHN: “Properly but I don’t look at playboy magazines I don’t need to coz I’m married with children!”
MARLENA: “Well I’m glad to hear that! Were we eating tonight?”
JOHN: “I donno get dressed warmly coz it’s bit cold outside and we can go look for somewhere or should we wait for Roman or Tony whateva and Candy to come back?”
MARLENA: “I refuse to have dinner with that thing! I’m surprised you remembered I was Alexia I thought he was gonna blow the cover then and I forgot who I was!”
JOHN: “I don’t remember my name but I will always remember yours!”
MARLENA: “Been like that ever since we first met!”
JOHN: “Oh you’re so funny! Now get dressed unless you want dinner with your favorite stripper.”
MARLENA: “I think dinner with my favorite husband sounds better!”
JOHN: “Oh so who’s your second favorite?”
MARLENA: “Oh I’d have to say Roman note I said Roman not as in Roman Tony Roman but as in John Black I thought was Roman.”
JOHN: “Well thankgod!”
MARLENA: “I’m ready lets go.”
JOHN: “O.K. were off.”
MARLENA: “I’ve seen her before John.”
JOHN: “O.K 1 its Conner and 2 get over it or I might start to think you’re jealous of her.”
MARLENA: “Oh yeah I am I always wanted to be a stripper.”
JOHN: “I’ll make your dreams come true then when we get home you can strip for me.”
MARLENA: “If Candy hasn’t already!”
JOHN: “Hurry up women I’m starving!”
MARLENA: “No John Conner whateva I have seen her before I remember her from Salem. Do you have any idea if you have seen her before?”
JOHN: “She looks bit familiar but honey come on like you have seen her we have never been to New York and what would a stripper like her be doing in a small town like Salem? It me, Bo, Roman and Shawn practically of the men!”
MARLENA: “I’ve seen her and I will prove it some how. I’m ready lets go.”
JOHN: “Well HALELUJA!”
(John and Marlena left the apartment

John and Marlena had their dinner and then took a quiet walk along the beach before returning to their apartment. They were about to go in they saw Roman and Candy at the door it looked like Candy was leaving unseen by Roman and Candy, John and Marlena watched on as Candy kissed Roman goodbye.)
CANDY: “Nite seeya tomorrow.”
ROMAN: “Yeah I certainly will. Where are you going now?”
CANDY: “Ny I told you I got work!”
(Marlena and John exchange glances and Roman looks upset to find out that Candy’s going to strip.)
ROMAN: “Oh yeah that’s right. Seeya.”
CANDY: “Night Ny pleasant dreams. Ah Conner, Doc I was just leaving.”
MARLENA: “What a shame.”
JOHN: “Seeya Candy.”
CANDY:” Ciao.”
MARLENA: “You Italian?”
CANDY: “Nah I stripped for a hot Italian spunk once and we kinda had a short relationship he taught me few words.”
MARLENA: “I didn’t ask about your stripping.”
ROMAN: “Seeya Candy.”
(Candy left and Marlena walked in the apartment leaving John and Roman outside.)
ROMAN: “Well I don’t think she could have shown a better way to tell us that she doesn’t like Candy.”
JOHN: “She doesn’t want to run your life or anything Roman but she’s not really trusting anyone at the moment but the two of us. She reckons that she recognizes Candy from somewhere.”
ROMAN: “Where?”
JOHN: “Donno.”
(John and Roman walked inside the apartment to find Marlena on the couch watching TV. John walked over and sat next to her she got up so that he could put his arms around her. Roman sat on the armchair.)
JOHN: “What you watching?”
MARLENA: “Some talkshow thing.”
ROMAN: “I’m sorry about Candy’s remarks before about your name and the baby Doc.”
MARLENA: “That’s fine.”
ROMAN: “I’m going to bed. Night.”
MARLENA AND JOHN: “Goodnight.”
MARLENA: “We gonna go to bed too?”
JOHN: “You tired?”
MARLENA: “Yeah abit.”
JOHN: “Lets go then.”
MARLENA: “O.K”
(John and Marlena went into their room and slept peacefully.)

(Three months later Marlena is in her 6 th month of her pregnancy, John is working at a police Station with Roman and Roman is getting serious with Candy. Marlena and John were home alone, John is making the cot and Marlena is in the lounge room reading a magazine when she comes across a picture of Candy. She goes into the nursery to show John.)
MARLENA: “John, John looks at this its Candy.”
JOHN: “Honey don’t run its not good for the baby what is it?”
MARLENA: “Its Candy.”
JOHN: “It is to what does the article say how old is the magazine.”
MARLENA: “It’s from 1998. Candy back from the small Salem town after having a fling with Italian Stallion Franco Kelly whom has been found dead. Main suspect is Kelly’s Fiancee Samantha Gene Brady. Daughter of respectable Doctor Marlena Evans and Captain Roman Brady.”
JOHN: “OMIGOD! Read on.”
MARLENA: “Kelly’s death is under investigation but it seems that his fiancée has killed him. Kelly was quiet the flirter and his fiancée Samantha Gene Brady was one of the only jealous Brady’s. Raised here and there not always having her mother and father there due to Stephano Dimera and her mother Dr Marlena Evans having an affair with millionaire John Black which produced a child, Isabella Black then known as Isabella Brady due to Marlena keeping the truth about the child’s father really being John Black to hide her affair. Samantha turned evil destroying her sister’s, Carrie Brady Reed’s relationship with her husband and constantly scheming to wreck havoc on the small town people. Finally falling in love Samantha settled down with Franco Kelly. What made her kill him? (Roman walks in and heres the last bits of Marlena’s sentence)
ROMAN: “What are you two talking about?”
(Marlena walks over to Roman and hands him the magazine.)
MARLENA: “Your precious Candy isn’t as innocent as you think she is Roman.”
ROMAN: “What its this a conspiracy against her. Did you dig this magazine up Marlena? Ha tell me did you ring around for the gossip on her? You can be happy move on with your life have kids with another man but I want a tiny bit of happiness and you try and ruin it for me. Has this been re-printed to suit you?”
JOHN: “Hey wait a minute Roman, Marlena found the magazine on the bench you left it there recognize the cover its yours you bought it home from the station by accident.”
MARLENA: “What do you think I am Roman? An Olga, slut?”
ROMAN: “It’s not true.”
JOHN: “Look mate you believe whatever you want to about Candy.”
ROMAN: “but let me guess you don’t say I told you so ha John is that what was gonna come next?”
MARLENA: “Roman why are you taking this out on us? All I did was read the magazine find an article on Candy and show it to you. We aren’t the enemies here.”
ROMAN: “No Candy is right?”
JOHN: “O.K. Roman I think you need to cool of a digest things Doc and I will leave you alone. Come on Marlena lets go for a walk.”
MARLENA: “You go and I will follow.”
JOHN: “O.K.”
MARLENA: “Roman I want you to be happy you have to be believe me. I told you and John from the start that I recognized her from somewhere but I let it go so I wouldn’t jeopardize your relationship. I’m not sorry for caring or finding the article. Now you have to make up your mind what your going to do.”
ROMAN: “I’m sorry for being so harsh to you.”
MARLENA: “Its O.K. I’ll see ya later.”
(Marlena walked over to Roman and kissed his cheek. She then grabbed her coat and walked out of the apartment leaving Roman on his own to digest what he had just found out.)
ROMAN: “You fooled me Candy you have humiliated me you knew exactly who I was you used me and you will pay because revenge is sweet and this time its double revenge not just for me but for my daughter if Sami were here you would be in for it.”

John and Marlena arrived back at the apartment about 2 hours after they had left they found Roman on the couch staring at the article. Marlena looked up at John who nodded at her and motioned for her to go talk to Roman.)
MARLENA: “Roman are you allright?”
JOHN: “Do you want us to leave you alone.”
ROMAN: “No you don’t have to leave I’m fine. Its true I rang Candy she’s been using me she remembered me from Salem and wanted to find out how to get to Sami.”
MARLENA: “Does that mean she knows all of us because then she could tell everyone where we are.”
ROMAN: “She does know us all I rang Abe and that Jackson person and told them everything, Abe said that they have leads on Brady but haven’t yet found him so we cant go back.”
JOHN: “So what do we do?”
ROMAN: “There are two things we can do. 1 we can stay here and hope she isn’t Brady’s right-hand person who was waiting to pounce or get transferred somewhere else.”
JOHN: “We are getting transferred.”
MARLENA: “John you wanna discuss this with us first? I can move again its to stressful not this far into my pregnancy.”
JOHN: “Well Marlena we have to choices and you just heard them do you wanna stay here and wait to be killed?”
ROMAN: “John Candy may have just wanted Sami she knows I’m on to her now and she has disappeared I rang her apartment about an hour ago and the landlord picked up and said she packed up and left without a trace.”
MARLENA: “What did Abe say about that?”
ROMAN: “I was gonna wait till you two got back. Why don’t we ring now.”
JOHN: ” O.K. go ahead.”
ROMAN: “No actually I will e-mail him because it’s two risky ringing again. I’ll e-mail him and tell you what he says why don’t you both go to bed and I will tell you what our options are in the morning?”
MARLENA: “O.K. that sounds like a plan. Goodnight Roman.”
ROMAN: “I’m sorry about all this maybe if I listened to you both it wouldn’t have happened.”
JOHN: “No I told you So’s goodnight.”
(John and Marlena went to bed while Roman e-mailed Abe back in Salem.)

Marlena woke up first because the baby was kicking her she got up and went to the living room where she found Roman sleeping on the couch. She bent down to wake Roman so he could go sleep in his room. Just then John woke up and walked into the living room.)
JOHN: “Honey don’t wake him.”
MARLENA: “That couch is not comfortable John.”
JOHN: “I know you have made me sleep on it before, but he’s had a hard night so why don’t you just let him sleep. How come your up so early?”
MARLENA: “Your baby’s the reason.”
JOHN: “Ha that’s my boy.”
ROMAN: “Boy ha I think it’s a girl!”
MARLENA: “Roman did we wake you?”
ROMAN: “Yeah but doesn’t matter I have lots of things to tell you so sit down.”
JOHN: “What’s wrong partner?”
ROMAN: “Jack from the New York station rang last night, it appears a women’s body was bought into the hospital from an overdose they couldn’t save her.”
MARLENA: “What’s that’s got to do with us?’
ROMAN: “Everything. It was Candy she killed her self.”
JOHN: “What I’m sure are they certain its her,”
ROMAN: “Yeah I went and saw her in the morgue it was her. I rang Abe and he reckons that she knew we were on to her and knew we or I would either plot revenge on her or kill her so she did instead.”
MARLENA: “Wow.”
JOHN: “Well in a way this is good news isn’t it?”
ROMAN: “Yep we don’t have to go anywhere.”
MARLENA: “Well atleast she did us a favor.”
ROMAN: “Well I’m glad we don’t have to move but please don’t sound so excited about her being dead.”
MARLENA: “Were sorry. Or rather I’m sorry.”
ROMAN: “That’s ok.”
MARLENA: “OOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW.”
JOHN: “Baby what’s wrong?”
MARLENA: “Bubbles is kicking me!”
ROMAN: “Bubbles ha well if I was called Bubbles I’d be kicking you too!”
JOHN: “Yeah exactly your not calling no kid of mine Bubbles.”
MARLENA: “Well its betta then IT!”
JOHN: “Yeah maybe a inch. But Marlena, Bubbles is not what its name is going to be!”
ROMAN: “I’m with John.”
MARLENA: “I’m Bubbles mother and I’m naming Bubbles whateva I wont got it?”
JOHN: “Go make breakfast will ya I’m hungry!”
MARLENA: “Where’s the women society now! Can you help Bubbles and I?”
JOHN: “Hurry up.”
(As John and Marlena walked into the kitchen Roman walked out to get the paper. When he came back he could here Marlena and John giggling and dropping things in the kitchen he wished that he would fall in love with someone who loved him as much as Marlena had loved him or how much she loves John.)
ROMAN: “So is Bubbles feeling better? No more kicking?”
MARLENA: “HAHAHA you both think your so funny. Yes Bubbles is fine now. Roman, John made breakfast but I think that you would rather eat my breakfast coz that looks sick. Here my bacon and eggs look way better then that shit that John made but its ok John I didn’t marry you coz you could cook! Thank goodness.”
JOHN: “I love it when your honest with me it makes me feel so much better about things!”
MARLENA: “Yeah well what you want me to do about it lie??? Well I hate to leave you in the middle of breakfast Roman but John and I have to go to my doctors appointment.”
ROMAN: “oh yeah I forgot good luck.”
MARLENA AND JOHN: “Seeya.”
