The Ski Cabin – By Loutje

“Mom, are we there yet?” “Shut up, Shawn!” Marlena slaps him on the head. “Ow!” “Knock it off you two. If you don’t I’ll turn this car around and we’ll go home.” “You heard you’re mom! Knock it off.” Oh great, her dad is taking her mom’s side. Marlena gives her brother a drop-dead look. He’s been harassing her the whole trip. “I’ll bet he already forgot about you,” he said, and, “I know for sure that he’s had a hundred girls after him. That’s how those guys are.”

If she closed her eyes she could see her baby’s face. His dark hair, his ocean blue eyes… Oh, she missed him. Of course she knew that most ski-teachers were womanizers, but not John. He was different, she was sure of it. Why else would he email her and send text messages so much? When she thinks about one of those text messages, she becomes all hot. She can’t wait to get to Austria.

When Marlena opens the car door she feels as though her toes freeze immediately. It’s pretty early in the morning and the apartment-complex is pretty dead right now. The fresh snow twinkles in the morning sun. “Brrr, it’s cold,” her mom says. Dad gets the suitcases upstairs and Shawn and Marlena are right behind him with their snowboards and skis. “Martha, have you seen the keys? I can’t find the damn things anywhere. And I had them just a minute ago!” The family is standing in the hallway in front of the door. Because of all the stuff they have with them, no one can move properly. Shawn wrinkles his nose. “Hurry up, it smells out here, the smell of sweaty feet!” Then Marlena sees the keys in a backpack. “Voilá.” Her father turns around and almost trips over a couple skis. “Godda… Mar do me a favor and open the door.” Once inside, the room looks great. Without looking to see if her brother is following her Marlena runs to a bedroom. “This is m…”

Marlena stands frozen in the doorway. There’s John! With a good looking girl in his arms! Surprised he looks up. “Marlena!” The girl stammers, “Oh gosh, I’m sorry. I’m from the traveling agency and I’ve uh checked the rooms.” She looks at John with a pleading look on her face. “Come on, let’s go.” John looks from the dark haired girl to Marlena and back. “But…” The girl grabs his hand forcefully. “I’ve gotta get out of here. Come on.” She pulls him away and he’s looking for eye-contact with Marlena. They look in each others eyes for just a minute. “I’ll call you okay,” John says and with that they’re gone. Marlena is left behind, standing there, stunned. “Who where those people?” Her father lets himself fall on the bed and looks at his daughter questioningly. “That uh… that was the girl from the travel agency,” she says distractedly. ”She said she was checking the rooms.” Dad shakes his head disappointingly. “Polite-type. Not. She walked right past me and your mother. And the boy?” Marlena feels her cheeks burning up. “That uh, I don’t know.”

It’s still early. Just a couple early-birds in the ski-elevators. On top of the mountain Marlena is just staring in the distance. She can hardly believe what happened. John with another girl… So her little brother was right She shakes her head to get rid of her current thoughts. She really thought he loved her… that he was different than the others. Her thoughts drift back to the previous winter when she’d met him at a après-ski party. Unlike the other ski-teachers he didn’t try to pick her up with a sleazy pick-up line. No, he just smiled, that cute smile of his. When they stood at the bar together, he started talking to her. Asked if she wanted to dance with him. She became a little weak in the knees because of his shy look. That night he didn’t try anything on her, not even when he brought her home. She thought it was cute, but the next day she took the initiative. He was way to hot to just look at. And boy was she right… It became the most romantic week of her life. Everyday they were together, everyday they made love. It was so good to be with him… Roetsj! Marlena is brought back to reality when a snowboarder passes by and covers her with the cold snow. “Jerk!” She snorts and skis down.

Later that day, Marlena and her family are drinking hot coco in a nice cozy Austrian café. Shawn’s been boarding the whole day with a friend he knows from the previous vacation. Marlena’s parents stopped skiing halfway through the day and are reading a book while they’re enjoying the weather. Marlena hasn’t found anyone she knows, even though she was supposed to meet a German girl she met on the internet. Apparently she stood her up. Just like John… “Wow, what a cranky looking face. Couldn’t the teacher remember your name?” Her little brother looks at her with a smug look on his face. “I’m sick and tired of you and your behavior! You know that?!” Marlena stands up so fast she knocks over her hot cocoa, and it falls over her brothers knee. “Aw, you bitch.” Marlena gives him the finger and walks away, pissed off.

Outside she grabs her skis and walks to the ski-elevator. It goes up for the last time that day, so there’s almost no-one in there. It’s little colder than before and Marlena shivers. Why didn’t he say he has another girl? Bastard. That’s the only thing she thinks about when she goes up the mountain. When she’s up there it’s a little foggy and she skis down. Then someone comes up beside her. “Finally! I’ve been looking for you all over the place!” Marlena looks to her side… it’s John. She’s startled by him and loses her balance, which makes her fall in the snow. John unlocks his snow-boots and hurry’s to Marlena’s side. “I’m sorry. I didn’t meant for this to happen.” He reaches out his hand to her, but she slaps it away. “Didn’t meant for this to happen? What, that I walked in on you with another girl?” John laughs, showing his white teeth. “That other girl is my sister.” For a minute there Marlena feels relieved, but then the doubt hits again. “You really think I’d fall for that? I know how you ski- teachers are…” John just shakes his head and hands her his cellphone. “Here, call her if you don’t believe me…” Marlena hesitates. “But why was she in your arms?” John puts his cell back in his pocket. “She got her heart broken, because her boyfriend cheated on her.” They remain silent for a moment. Then John reaches out his hand to her again. “Come with me… to my apartment. We’ve wasted enough time. Haven’t we?” Slowly a smile forms on Marlena’s lips, and she grabs his hand.

Hand in hand they walk to the edge of the little village. Once inside the ski-cabin, her mouth falls open. “How big and beautiful.” In the meantime John lights the fire. In no time the fire is big, warm and cozy. “Lay down…” Marlena’s voice sounds raspy. She pushes him down on the soft rug and removes his sweater. John struggles to get Marlena out of her shirt. Impatiently Marlena helps him and crawls against him on the rug. They’re kissing each other passionately. “Wait my snow boots,” John gasps, but Marlena can’t wait any longer. “Forget them,” she whispers and unzips his pants. Marlena’s hands are making a path over his body, and he shudders. “Mmmm, that’s so good.” John closes his eyes when she strokes his penis. “I want you John. I’ve waited for this for such a long time…” She pushes her pants down and wants to sit on his lap, but John stops her. “We’ve waited for a year, so I think a couple more seconds can’t hurt” He kisses her teasingly. Walking to the drawer, he kicks off his boots and grabs something. He smiles when he sees Marlena lying naked on the rug.

John gets rid of his pants and moves down next to her. “You’re so beautiful,” he whispers. “Want to do the honors?” he asks showing a condom. Marlena smiles mischievously. “Why? Forgot how to do it?” She grabs the condom and rolls it down his hard shaft. She hears his sharp intake of breath. Then he says, “I almost forgot how great you are.” Marlena kisses him passionately. “I guess I have to refresh your memory.” She rolls on top of him and kisses every inch of his body. Very slowly she goes lower, and lower, and lower. John moans softly when she reaches his thigh. He gets goose bumps all over when she starts to trail a path with her tongue, from his thigh to the sensitive area below his belly-button. “Mmm I think some things are beginning to resurface again.” Marlena giggles and caresses him softly. “Want me to continue? Or do you remember enough?” John looks at her. “Please continue. It would be sadistic if you stopped right now.” Marlena smiles and looks at him with desire, while she bends over and puts her lips back to work.

Together they lay on their backs enjoying the afterglow of their lovemaking. Marlena, ”I didn’t know you could become so hot on a winter vacation.” John bursts out into laughter. He takes her in his arms and sighs. “I wish you could stay here forever.” Marlena looks up shocked. “What time is it?” John looks at his watch. “Six. Why?” Marlena gets up and starts to get dressed. “Shit, I’ve got to have dinner with my family. They don’t know I’m here.” John scratches his head. “Can’t you call them and tell them you’re staying here for dinner?” Marlena gives him a quick kiss. “No, we’re going out to dinner. Besides if I call I have to answer 101 questions. Will I see you tomorrow?” John smiles. “Of course. At 9. Hmm the ski-elevators.” Marlena zips her coat and waves goodbye. “Of course. Sweet Dreams.” And she blows him a kiss.

“What do you want to eat Mar? They’ve got potato dish with bratwurst. You love that don’t you?” Marlena nods enthusiastically, she’s famished. Her dad notices that too. “Wow you’re excited. Did the skiing go well today?” Marlena smiles mysteriously. “Very well.” Her little brother looks at her suspiciously. “What’s wrong with you? Did you run into that John dude?” Marlena smiles at him. “You know you’re right. I saw him today with 5 of his girlfriends. What a jerk, huh?” And she looks at the menu as if nothing happened. Shawn doesn’t know what to think about that. “Hmm,” he growls, and looks at the menu. Marlena laughs inwardly. I can’t believe I didn’t think of that before. Just tell him he’s right, then he won’t have anything to bother me with, she thinks.

The next morning she sees he’s already at the ski-elevator. Smiling broadly, John approaches her. He kisses her softly on the lips. “Hey Pretty Lady. Ready for a day on the mountains with me?” Marlena puts an arm around his waist. “I think one downward slope is enough. How about a long day in your cabin?” John pulls her to him. “It sounds like a plan. Call your parents… because you’re spending the night”
